I would like to break into the mortgage industry preferably in underwriting or loan processing. I only hold an associate degree in Criminal Justice but have had exposure doing notary work. Everyone is asking for 3 years plus experience. Hopeless?

I’d suggest starting as a loan processor. Many companies will hire without experience and train you. You can also do relatively well as a processor income wise, once you get good at it. It’s nearly impossible to start as an underwriter without any previous experience though.

I’ll also add, right now the mortgage industry is a little unstable (I just got laid off earlier this week) because the Fed has announce more interest rate hikes as the year goes on. Which means market compression will likely lead to some more layoffs in the industry

Any thoughts on Georgia tech’s OMSCS vs OMSA? Non-CS background in economics - very quant degree - and want to do the former but unlikely due to lack of accredited courses in CS. Intention is to do DS but want a proper math grounding and knowledge of SE to build models that fit into existing infrastructure. Have done data analytics in R and quant finance in Matlab, in addition to some ML and SE stuff in Python for project.

I've worked as an HR Generalist and Business Partner for over 15 years, and I'm ready to do something else. I have some pretty significant experience in compensation and I'd like to pivot into a role that's focused there. I know there are some certifications available through SHRM and World at Work - any thoughts from those in Comp whether these would compliment hands on work experience and if they might improve my chances of getting noticed for a role in Comp?

How do exit opportunities compare at Principal vs. senior manager?

Hi there,

If you or someone you know is hiring for an Internal communications lead focused on employee engagement, I’d love a connection.

I help leaders and teams inform, inspire and connect with their employees.

Just wondering what opportunities are there for junior to mid career professionals in US international tax to work abroad in UK or Australia? Is there a need for US tax professionals there (i.e. Big 4s or in house) or would one need to learn the local tax laws and would that learning be relatively "easier" given existing background in US tax. Cheers

Any SaaS AEs out there (non mid-market/franchise) making 6 fig base? What company? How did you get there? (Can be as vague as you'd like).

*Back story - 8yrs of sales experience, 5yrs as a SaaS Sr AE. Have always been a top performer. Current company am consistently the #1. Just started interviewing to advance my career, both pay and growth-wise. I see some that are 6fig base but seems they're either for start-ups or highly sought-after companies you basically need an internal referral. Thx!

I am a young litigation associate (2y) mainly doing government investigations at a big law firm in DC. My S.O. is in the military and will have new orders coming soon (1-2 years). We will likely be moving to CA.
