OP - check trackitt.com cases, on average for ROW you'll have your GC printed and mailed in less than 12 months after submission of concurrent I-140 and I-485.
You also should expect to receive the EAD/AP combo sooner than that. Lawyers tend to give a higher timeline for unexpected events, such as delays or RFEs.
Very helpful thank you!
Also filed the two together mid Nov 2020. Got my receipt notice mid Feb stamped early Feb and just got the biometric appointment doc in the mail today. They mentioned some serious backlog with the receipt notices earlier this year. Hope this helps and good luck! Also got quoted 12-18 months and I'm keeping my fingers crossed so I can leave early next year...
You can tell this is an immigration bowl. Everyone is asking you whether you are IN or RoW. In the regular bowl they’d ask you where are you exiting to after McKinsey?!
I-485 takes a tremendous amount of time rn. You’ll get your combo card much sooner tho.
4 months
On same boat, I submitted early summer last year and still waiting even for an approval of I-140 😑 I don’t understand how USCIS operates.
Can the employer file for h1b extension without approval of I-40? With such delays, I will hit the h1b max without 1-140 approval. Worried!
Follow up question: should I get married to my American SO instead? Would that speed up GC I need to leave this job that’s killing me!
Yes on combo card - just make sure your new employer is aware and be prepared to explain if they get confused. Think there may be limitations on what job you can jump to with EAD (can’t switch to significantly different SOC code) so do some research on that as well.
I filed Dec 2019 and still waiting. I’m hoping it’ll come in the next couple of months though. The process takes 4x longer than it used to because Trump slow-rolled immigration pathways
EB-1? RoW?

You’re also behind that huge batch in october of folks that couldn’t submit any documents for years. I have a couple of friends who submitted their docs at that time and haven’t heard back about anything. I’ve submitted in mid October and just got an rfe for my i140 after I switched to premium to speed up the process. I’ve never heard of anyone getting an rfe for i140. Uscis is terrible. I question my life choices all the time thinking about it. I’m like in the jail waiting for years before I can move out. Should have stayed at home
P3 thank you for the reply!
Just got receipt notice for I-485. Filed last week Monday
Employment based
Dude we have waited for 10 years as part of backlogged countries like india, China and you don’t have patience for 18 months. Welcome to the wait queue. Be glad it’s much shorter than the rest of us

Submitted both, also with PP in late July. Still waiting and just got an RFE
Supp J is optional. My employers never filed one. I switched twice with pending 485. EB3. CoB - India. Unless something has changed. My GC was approved 3 years ago.

Lol 12 months is the minimum. More like 18

I140 is pretty quick. You can do it via pp and get it approved in 3 weeks. I485 now is 12-18 months cause most locations don’t let you come and do an interview in person due to covid. Lots of people are stuck. Some interviews are waived but the process is pretty much stuck now. The fastest now on trackitt I’ve seen was done in 14-15 months.
Will I485 progress depend on I140 approval ?? Or will it be independent if we file together ?
Thanks D1

12-18 months sounds about right if you processing center is Texas. Some processing centers have timelines less than 12 months.
Author, McK 1 and BCG 1 - which green card did you apply for? EB2 or EB1-C?
Author - did our immigration tea try to talk you out of applying through EB1C? They are telling me EB1C is risky so EB2 is preferable. How did you think about it?
When did you start the process with the Firm's lawyers? I just started the process and they have to wait until Spring review to move forward. Curious if it was the same for you. Thanks.
SIA- they were very slow and told me that they serve the firm, not me. Uhh I’m not taking that lying down, I complained about the slowness to everyone and their mothers at mck- Legal, staffer, HR... this is MY LIFE, move faster. I’ve missed my nephew’s birth, haven’t seen my parents in over a year (Covid not withstanding)
I think all processes have had a longer processing time because of covid unfortunately. Everything got backed up
Author, did the McK immigration team try to talk you out of applying through EB1C? They are telling me EB1C is very risky so I should do EB2.
I honestly can’t rmb which category this was
I-140 was approved

Congrats! Got mine approved too yesterday
Submitted AOS December 2019 - still waiting . Welcome to club
I just got informed that my H1-B status has been revoked, after approval last Summer. USCIS recently received a duplicate application on my behalf, which they rejected and revoked my visa status. I was told this was a “mail room” error and that I need to be separated from the firm as of tomorrow. They are filing and appeal to USCIS letting them know this was a mistake, they say the timeline is 2-3 weeks for a response. Has this happened to anyone? Do you have any advice?
Can you give more details. What was filed and what was mail room by mistake. I have not heard revoking H1B visa status. It’s mew to me. I know rejecting extensions or transfers but never heard about revoking visa status.
