Anyone here a US citizen who chose to leave in favor of London? I’m American but husband is European. He wants to return for the social culture of Europe but I just get traumatized by the pay in London and almost equally high cost of living as in tier 1 USA cities. I know money isn’t everything but hoping to hear about other Americans experiences . Thank you!
I’m a tech consultant working in the SAP practice. I’m a second year associate. I have decided that I don’t like the culture of consulting - work more hours, always add more work and responsibility to your plate, etc. I would like to work a job that is more 9-5 that doesn’t expect you to work in so many different things at once. What industry roles should I be applying to? Is leaving after 1.5 years too soon?
What sort of yearly salary increase are you guys getting? Is it normal to expect merit (performance) + cost of living/inflation? I got 1.5% and don’t know how to feel about that..
How are those people experienceing hoemelessness being impacted by COVID-19? Has anyone seen any data?
I don’t like dogs. Don’t find them cute, they smell horrible, and how do people let them lick their faces?! Ewww
Also - got missed in the last post, but I just published changes to allow for inclusion of industry roles including a dropdown in the “stream” section and a place to include annual equity compensation
I want to watch Udemy courses while I work out, but I can’t focus on the lesson if I’m moving. How do I make it so my body isn’t stationary for hours on end learning these things?

What are the exit opportunities for big 4 M&A tax? Any chances to go to investment bank M&A or retiring as a big four partner is the best scenario?
Waking up today knowing that I’m off for 7 days and then get to work from home till the last of week of January is THE BEST FEELING EVER.
If your path demands you to walk through hell (or an equivalent client), then walk as if you own the place.
Got an offer from Guidehouse as a senior consultant in HIA back in January. The recruiter is MIA and not coming up with joining date and giving reasons like other PRoject team was put on bench and they will be allocated first before giving joining dates to the new hires. What should I do...if the recruiter comes back with the joining date. Should I join? What is the business situation at Guidehouse right now?

Excluding doctors and lawyers, do you think that it is fair to say that working as a consultant is a lot more demanding that many other business jobs? (Billable hours, 24/7 availability, etc..)
Hear me out before reporting this. I know it’s a good thing overall that we focus more on mental health/therapy nowadays, but sometimes I wonder if it’s just a crutch to blame things on others and not take self responsibility. My brother has been going through Complex PTSD and severe depression for 4-5 years and it’s been absolute hell. It’s not any better after multiple therapists and the latest one he likes seems to encourage blaming my parents as the cause despite us having same upbringing
What’s your next move, if any? I had three interviews at the end of August (obtained outside of their normal recruiting process) with an AmLaw 100 firm for an associate job. The managing partner was up front with me that they are trying to gauge needs and that they need a month or two for something else to shake out. This was not a clear blowoff, in context. How/when do I show continued interest/remind them I exist politely/avoid hurting my odds? Assume I’m not delusional.
