Report this kid, else this bowl will not be safe place...
3 years late to writing this post but this never went out of my mind. I was a rockstar for my manager before I had a kid. Once I came back from maternity, he expected me to always be available to take his calls, and just always work! Which I couldn’t for obvious reasons. He went on to say I have lost the zeal to work and I am spending too much time at home. I decided to quit but then ultimately changed roles to get away from him. What should I have done? Anyone else saw this change in behavior?

I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!
Anyone in the food manufacturing industry? My friend is a Regulatory consultant being offered a Regulatory Mgr job $115 salary in East coast. She has 23 yrs experience, MS in Food Science. Has worked for big companies like McCormick, Frito Lays, Hersheys, Pepsico. It is not my industry so I don’t know… but it sounds very low. Thoughts?
I’m working at a new company and absolutely love it, my boss just hired a new person on our team that has no hr experience, no college background, they worked in IT so she thought it would be great to have her own IT person, now I’m struggling to make it through the day at work because of the language that the new person uses in conversations or the fact that he wears the same outfit all week long to work. Am I just being petty and should I get over it?

What is the craziest thing someone has done to get a job at your company and it actually worked?
I’m looking for alternatives to the big survey companies like Mercer. From time to time I need data (for example on vehicle allowances) but I can’t pay $1,000 for one report or $30k for all the data. My company and budget are just too small. Does anyone have some smaller, less expensive options they turn to? I’m willing to pay but Mercer prices. Thanks!!
Our company usually does performance evaluations in June of each year. Our pay philosophy is not clear. We usually give a COLA in January each year, somewhere around 2% and if an employee performed well, they get above the 2%. I have suggested we change our process to have a clear pay philosophy with increases tied to performance, with goals tied to overall goals of the organization. What is your process? Are you doing performance evals during COVID?
Are we headed for a recession?
What are the standard fees for outsourcing consultancy work?
I've been working with a newly established consultancy business. Until now I've been paid day rates or project rates.
I've been invited to lead, build and manage the HR consultancy.
What are reasonable fee structures?
1. If they source work and give it to me to complete, what is a fair percentage?
2. If I source work and complete it, what should I 'pay' them given that it's under their 'brand'?
What would you do if you found out an executive was speaking poorly about you and your work performance to other employees? Is this a case where you would get HR involved? Have a conversation with the individual? Let it go? The comments are confirmed to have happened at an event that the offended party was planning/running, and the exec said negative comments to two other people at the company about the event and their work, and also said the person looked “too stressed.”
Hey everyone! Do any of you use an onboarding software that automated the process? I want to be able to smooth out the process and make it easier for the new hire. I also want to know if any of you use a company that creates company swag for new hires. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
Would love some feedback this afternoon on creative ways to reach more applicants. I’m a recruiter for a small NGO and we’re looking to hire more recent graduates. Handshake, Indeed and LinkedIn have been our friends and I’ve also utilized various forums to attract applicants but want to reach out for some feedback from other recruiters. Thanks for the support in advance 😊

- Set ground rules for behaviour
- Apologise if you get it wrong
