I'd love to get a job in a video games studio. I have experience as a project lead (help deliver a program as part of a cross functional). What kind of skill would you say is essential to work in that environment and to actually get noticed when I apply. I'm very dedicated and will do almost anything to get the job done, so I'm willing to skill up to be able to get in.

I’ve been an LPN for 8 years, predominately in pediatrics, both in patient and home healthcare. I’ve worked in medical offices for 10+ years before that. I was looking to explore options outside of bedside nursing/direct patient care, do I have many options? I quit my job 2 months ago, and started a new one.

The new job that I have looks good on paper (can buy PTO, programs, WFH 60%, etc.), but my other company just feels like home.

I miss the people, I miss the growth opportunities, I miss how much I learned everyday, I miss how supportive my Manager was. It truly feels like I’m missing “home”.

Should I stick the new job out for longer, or should I reach out to my previous employer?

I’m struggling. I was previously working at a regional firm that’s well regarded in my state. I was busy but I liked the people and there was mutual trust. The partner I worked with a lot moved to an AM 100 law firm and asked me to go with her. I said yes, even though I was generally happy where we were working. I’ve been at this new firm 6 months and I’m miserable. We’re all overworked, I think I’m burned out (making silly mistakes), & the pay is not that much higher. Not sure what to do.

I weekly Hot take. There is far to much hand holding when it comes to map exploration in many Open world games. I rarely ever use the mark feature because the map is already lit up with way points for every little thing. Take genshin impact. It will lead you to your next quest objectives but any secrets or collectibles don't have a way point. You can even see on 3rd party maps how obnoxious it would be if they all did.
