Idk what to do. Manager position at Deloitte in high net worth private client services or go into corporate - blue cross blue shield tax manager making 130k in low cost of living Place. Mom of 3 kids and husband is a doctor what would you do? To me it sounds like blue cross doesn’t have any downtime during the year so for flexibility public accounting is probably better I am guessing. I currently work at EY as a senior about to be promoted to manager in the next couple months.

They said at most you would work 60 hours but generally they work more than forty at week at Blue cross which I thought was interesting… tax dept prepares the provision, tax returns, sales and use returns, and 1099 information returns. So sounds like you are pretty busy year round based on that alone.

How much does Deloitte pay?

I would go to private

Indianapolis? Definitely would choose Anthem. I have a few friends who work there and they say it's a lovely place

Ya same here at EY and I enjoy the downtime we get so idk it might be worth it to go to Deloitte over blue cross only because of that reason I would rather have some downtime than no downtime at all and little flexibility and required to go to the office 3 days a week. I think you just really helped me answer my own question lol go to Deloitte 😂

Hmm. So you mind sharing hours they told you? One or two busy seasons?

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’d stay at EY. At least until you make manager. Then start looking for outside opportunities in the corporate world. The hours for a manager at Deloitte in that group will have you looking soon anyway. No point using them as a stepping stone if you’re going to be promoted in a few months.

Hello, I have 4 years of experience between Financial decision support and pricing. However, I feel like my experience is too narrowed to how my current company operates. I am looking to pivot into consulting at one of the big4 ( for ~2-3 years)or any other consulting firm to have a well rounded experience that could be applicable to any industry. Any advices ?or thoughts ?

Does anyone recommend working in high pressure better salary(WFH IC Engineer role in a relatively big Financial services firm, but working hands of on many things that builds pressure) vs

job 2 or atleast offer (Senior Manager 3 days a months in office( Banking firm) minimum, people manager for 24/7 infra operations teams and new project)taking a salary cut of 8k in base and with better WLb( hr) says so in interview. I am too confused. On job security we all know we can't guarantee anything.

How big of a deal is it to jump firms before getting a promotion? Up for promo in a few months but got an SC offer that better aligns with the type of work I want to be doing.

I don't like my job, the responsibilities and tasks aren't right for me or my lifestyle.

Key positives for my current employer are pay and security. But my new role within the company isn't working for me, and ultimately I don't think it is for the company either.

A much much smaller (20 people) company offered me a role.

With the global economic situation as is, is it worth the risk to change to a job I know i'd like more with less pay, and potentially less job security?

Hi fishes,

I think I am slipping into depression. My life seems to have no meaning and all I do is work. I don't get time for myself or my family, friends and loved ones. But I can't leave my job and take a break as I need the financial support.

I also feel I am earning way less than my peers which makes me feel like a loser. 4.5 years of work-ex and 16LPA.

What should I do? I need good wlb but also need money badly.
