Companies will typically put you on unpaid leave. My understanding is if you quit while on unpaid leave you are not eligible for unemployment
Red states are passing laws to ensure you get paid to stay home and avoid the vaccine.
My company will not lay off or provide any packages or unemployment. They will put you on a leave of absence for up to 12 months. They are however paying medical benefits
That’s great. Free health care and then you can work somewhere else. It’s a win win
Only if they are jerks and report your termination as being due to failure to get vaccinated. If they just report it as being laid off or something along those lines you could still get unemployment.
The company I work for says that anyone not vaccinated will be terminated in January for not following "workplace procedures ". In the meantime however, they get to WFH while the vaccinated employees have to work from office with no flexibility.
They legally will not pay you unemployment. It’s part of the federal mandate.
