If a fed GS 14 switched to a private sector what level do you think they’d be? Have always wondered

as a 14 they’d typically have management experience and be making at least 120k, so it’d make sense to be a manager or well-compensated senior/subject matter expert. Haven’t personally seen many people make the move from that level.

like

Senior Associate. By way of experience, resume, etc you’d think manager but I’d be wary of hiring a Fed in at that level.

Yep - Senior Associate on the high end of the pay band. We’ve done the same with GS15s

Hope it’s ok posting this here, I’m just feeling down.

My best friend since we were about 6 years old is getting married. She asked my twin sister to be her bridesmaid, but not me. She said it was hard choice (i understand, she has other close friends) and she wants to still be apart of her day as a “female usher”.

I’ve never really heard of a female usher. Is this something any of you have seen before? Gonna be honest - I’m feeling a little down that she didn’t ask me but i know it’s limited

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

I’ve got an offer but no financial aid/scholarships. There’s a good chance I’ll lose my offer if I try to defer and save more money. In order to go this year I’ll need to take out more than 100k in loans.

For anyone who has taken this route, is it something that is manageable in the long run or does it ruin your life?

Context - U.K. students are not offered support from the US government or our own - loans are private

Trying to evaluate monetary offers is difficult since I receive a significant bonus for maintaining my clearance (120k + 30k for the clearance). So I’m evaluating a non-cleared offer for 180k. I don’t want to hold the clearance anymore. Should I evaluate it against the 120 or the 150 in terms of answering the question “is the jump big enough to leave?” With bonus and without clearance, it’s a 40% or so jump, but only a 12-15% jump with only bonus and base included.
