Federal, Government, and Public Sector

If a fed GS 14 switched to a private sector what level do you think they’d be? Have always wondered

as a 14 they’d typically have management experience and be making at least 120k, so it’d make sense to be a manager or well-compensated senior/subject matter expert. Haven’t personally seen many people make the move from that level.

Senior Associate. By way of experience, resume, etc you’d think manager but I’d be wary of hiring a Fed in at that level.

Yep - Senior Associate on the high end of the pay band. We’ve done the same with GS15s

Offer in aerospace and defense, senior manager in Corp development. 170 base, 15-20% bonus. 8 years of experience. Any red flags? The non-comp benefits/WLB are all excellent

I’m the guy that got laid off the day I came back from vacation. A month later, I just got a job offer at a way better agency. Sometimes it works out, folks. Stay hopeful.

Would you, when taking a new role, rather hire your own team or take a role where you manage an already existing team? Do you ever make this an important criteria for taking a role and/or negotiating a role?

Why should I get an MBA? Honestly asking. I feel like I’m a high performer who has hit my target promotions so if I can make PPMD (or your firms equivalent) without further education why wouldn’t I?

Has anyone known anyone or thought about moving into restructuring and turnaround consulting? (e.g. firms like A&M, Alix, FTI, etc.) I’ve been in FDD for a couple years but getting bored of it. How do comp, hours, lifestyle compare? I know there is more travel involved once things get back to normal but honestly sounds great after working from home for last 6 months.

What do y’all use to curl or wave your hair?? I see the BondiBoost Wave Wand advertised allll the time but it seems like it has mixed reviews. Is it worth it? I have shoulder length, fine hair if that helps. 💇🏼‍♀️

Chicago Tribune: Huge crowd gathers at Rotary Hill near Naperville District 203 offices to demand area schools reopen. Hundreds of Naperville-area parents & students rallied Monday to urge local school boards to bring students back to the classroom and the playing field. Hmm...so all these parents just want to send their kids into schools do die, right? And kill all the teachers and their families too. All out of pure selfishness.
