If a partner puts both his and the associate name on a pleading without associate having worked on it or knowing about the said pleading, and the firm gets sanctioned (say rule 11 for instance), does it mean that the associate is one of the sanctioned attorneys? Like it affects the associate’s later pro hac vice or insurance applications where it asks whether associate has been sanctioned?

I switched firms this year to a boutique (~15 attys) that pays out sizable year end bonuses (I was told during the hiring process at least 75% of our base salary for associates). Just finished articling at a firm and was offered a position to stay on with them. I was offered another position at another firm which I want to take but not until the new year. My current firm is now pressuring me to sign a contract with them where it stipulates I would need to provide 1 month notice. Do I sign and quit as originally intended? I was planning on beginning at the new firm in February. Or should I let them know my intentions sooner? I’m afraid it will effect my year end bonus.

I'm wondering if this is accepted practice. My firm has a computer monitoring system that takes pictures of what you're working on every 5 seconds. The firm's HR/office manager then uses this to determine if you're working while you're in the office. Ex) I have outlook opened on my computer, but I'm inactive on my computer b/c I'm reading a paper file. This individual will walk into my office to see why I'm not 'working'. Getting pretty fed up.

I've been using the free version of Casetext for a few years. It's fast, basic, and I like it. Unfortunately, they have gone subscription only. The firm has (and I dislike) Westlaw. Any good alternatives to Casetext that provide for lightweight, fast case resources?
