They don’t get top talent. They get people who didn’t get MBB or boutiques but still want to do strategy. Same with KPMG.
I should've clarified - what makes AS better than B4 MC / S&O.
Higher salary, and the last generalist career track available to analysts in Big4 + ACN.
Strict expense policies, so so parental leave, etc. I'm not critizing, just genuinely curious if there are other cool perks that aren't talked about. It's not alot but at D I certainly appreciate the liberal expense policy, health club allowance when traveling, well being subsidy, DU, etc.
I responded below too, but I had the choice between D S&O and ACN Strat and chose ACN because the salary was markedly higher and the work opportunities available seemed slightly more interesting. I did consider the better expense policy at D, along with a brand name that’s probably perceived slightly better outside of consulting (but not within consulting IMO), and ultimately decided that those weren’t worth the benefits that ACN offered. Also worth noting that the promotion timeline is quite a bit quicker than other Big4 outside of S& and possibly Parthenon (which both appear about equal).
