Anyone know anything about Chartis? Types of work, salary, culture, etc.

Does pretty much every company require you to fight for raises in order to keep up with market value or are there companies that exist who are good about paying you your worth? If so, which companies are good at this?

Someone is trying to set me up with a guy (who seems nice…but I don’t really know him beyond texting a few times). I was born and raised in America, and he was born in india, and was raised in India until he was 15. It’s a no pressure situation, but I’m so hesitant to even move forward (ie going on a date) because of the culture gap. Am I being unreasonable? I’m 27F and hes 30M.

I’m considering an Associate Principal role at Korn Ferry and need a parent’s perspective on culture and WLB. Reviews are mixed on these topics, skewing negative. Part of why I switched to WFH in the pandemic was to spend time with my family, and while I have *some* weeks of 50-60 hours, it’s not every week & I still feel like I have a life outside work; I can log off whenever to drive my kid to appointments or late-afternoon activities. What has your experience been, and do you recommend it?

Am I crazy? I recently moved in with my girlfriend of 6 years. I am jewish - I go to temple and celebrate jewish holidays. Technically, she is half jewish half christian. She does not go to temple or church and basically only celebrates Christmas.

I took a new job with an 18k pay cut with a new firm because it was new an they promised for a salary review within 6 months once they had a better idea of their profits. This new firm aligned much better with my career goals, culture , and preferred design. My wife’s parents want me to buy them an expensive apartment in India. I live in the US, and wife is a home maker. They do not have a big chunk for retirement so I send them some cash every six months (like I send to my parents). I buy their plane tickets to US, help with additional purchases (like TV, cell phone). They want me to sell my apartment in India which I bought before marriage. But I want to start saving for my own kids. Dont have a home in US, how do I say no? Wife is really angry..

Soo how are we feeling about first generation Africans being the star panelists for several of these corporate Juneteenth panels? Before anyone starts accusing me of wanting to drive division, it just strikes me as being as an inappropriate as asking me, an African-American descendant of slaves to star on a panel about life in Africa just because I’ve visited a couple times (which I have).
