I’m an A2 in audit at a midtier (BDO/RSM/GT). Eventually want to make the move to Big 4. Should I be applying now or wait until senior promo? Some background if it matters: I didn’t get promo’d to senior for August 2022 - I joined the firm in Fall 2021 as an A2 (I have one year and a half working in industry). Thus I have only completed one busy season so far. I’ve been staffed on a mix of pubco and large private engagements, some where I acted more as staff and others more as the in-charge

Currently a staff 2 in audit at a big 4 firm (will be promoted to senior later this year), and I’m curious about switching into FDD. I’ve been seeing the referral plugs in here from all of the FDD folks, but it’s mainly been directed at those with more experience. Should I wait it out to make the switch or would I stand a chance with only 1.5 years of experience?

Looking for advice. I'm a tax manager that worked at both Big 4 and mid-tier in expat/mobility tax. I want to move away from tax compliance and more into technology. I currently use Excel and VBA for automating processes, and are taking beginner coding classes (Python, intro to programming). What career path do I have? I thought about quitting to do a bootcamp and work as a software developer, but is it too risky? Perhaps I can blend my tax experience and "coding" skills and do tax technology?

Wondering if anyone can give me some guidance. I work as Financial Services Tax Staff currently (Senior in Oct) but i’m trying to possibly leave the big 4 after the promotion. I am interested in changing my path to Private Client Services but i’m not sure if that will be possible as most of my experience is Partnerships (Private Equity & Hedge Funds) Do you think I will have to start over in ranks to do this? Is there a big difference between MM and B4 WLB? I liked the people at the MM firm better, but don't if B4 means that much I could see myself staying.
