Does anyone that would be considered an addition to diversity at a firm (gender, race, sexual orientation) dislike the diversity initiative standards of forcing a desired outcome regardless of applications and candidate quality? It seems unfair to qualified candidates to feel like maybe they got a job because of that initiative and not because of their quality as a candidate.

I’ve been feeling incredibly frustrated at the lack of follow through and systemic change that our industry promises over and over. Remember the black squares? Remember the Commit to Change initiative? Remember all your favorite agencies talking loud about racial and gender equality?

So instead of punching the wall I’ve been stepping up my random acts of kindness.
I saw an old man with only one functional leg and arm, struggling with groceries. I carried them to his apartment 2 blocks away...

Everyone gets up in arms about what race women prefer to date, but don't care if women discriminate by age, gender, able-bodiedness. It just comes off super entitled.

Anyone buy a house in a very white neighborhood? I grew up working class in a very Black/ Hispanic town and now my first home purchase is in an affluent town with no Black people. The neighbors seem very nice but I am just in shock still. I have to adjust to the lack of diversity

*Manager(s) allowed to gossip, lie and speak ill of female employees, both past and present

If you were offered a role at a company where there was little to no diversity within the group you were interviewing for (not even at the level you were interviewing for, or at senior leadership level) would this be a red flag for you in terms of culture, & potential opportunities? - Praising Ford for his contributions isn’t inherently bad. Saying “he has good bloodlines if you know about that stuff” is pretty anti-Semitic.
- Saying the someone thinks their own history makes them a clear choice on who to vote for in 2020 is fine. Saying if a black person hasn’t figured out how to vote in 2020 then they’re not black is pretty racist.
