If both my husband and I work for Ey can we both take the 16 week parental leave? Or is it primary caregiver only?

The world population is nearing 8 billion! How do you feel about humans overpopulating mother earth and depleting resources and destroying natural habitats? And why are those of us who choose not to have kids still the black sheep in today’s overpopulated world? Are people just not getting the memo? Is denial at play here or under-education? Or perhaps cultural norms that are outdated, but still very influential?

Moms of multiples, do you feel like you had more of an attachment with one of your kids more than another? I’ve got a 5 mo old and a 2.5 year old and just don’t remember being as connected to my 2.5 year old when he was a baby as I do my 5 mo old (both boys). Even my husband notices it. I feel terrible that my older may notice too. I love them both to pieces but baby just seems so much more enthralled with mommy and interactive with me than my older at this age. Curious if others have felt?

Any moms out there who have taken steps to protect your child’s identity? I’m thinking credit bureau freezes, maybe even paid monitoring for your little one? Just had a baby and got the SSN/card, so trying to figure out the best option. I work with a woman whose children’s identities were stolen (credit card fraud) and it’s been so difficult for her - prevention seems like the better option here. Thanks in advance!

The unthinkable has happened to a colleague with the loss of a very young baby. We went through some of the parenting journey at the same time so there’s a connection but never knew each other closely. I know I can’t fix it but I would love to do anything I can that is appropriate and sensitive. Would a night of accomm in a nearby country town be suitable- thinking get them out of apartment for a scenery change and a refresh? Or am I overstepping. Any ideas?

I overheard a small law firm owner saying he will never hire women because the last female attorney he hired ended up being pregnant, and left the firm immediately after her maternity leave was over. How is this kind of discrimination still going on? How could we address this? One thing I can think of is mandatory parental leave regardless of gender, but I doubt it’ll ever happen in the US.

Any bday obsessed moms who ended up with kids with bdays close by? How was it? Do you wish it weren't so? I might be pregnant and then baby would be right around my bday. My SO'S bday is already close to mine and I hate it. I've always been bday obsessed and practically the whole month for me is bday focused. I know I'm a grown woman, but I don't care. Bdays are my fav. This might be extreme but I might go take a Plan B pill.
