So every time a white person does something terrible thing to a black person, race must be a crucial factor? Sorry, but as far as I know there is absolutely no evidence this was racially motivated.
And the reverse is never discussed even when it's exponentially more common https://www.city-journal.org/democratic-candidates-racism-crime
Race is a crucial factor in the justice system or her actions? Her actions, I'm not sure. The justice system, absolutely.
Don't get me wrong though. She deserves life for what she did. She is in the wrong.

No, often in cases of these nature prosecutors overcharge. Manslaughter seems likely.
I'm white pro gun dude. that lady fucked up and should face charges for her mistake. if any civilian did that they would def be charged. hello even in self defense you shoot a bystander be ready to face jail time
P3 are you saying she deliberately broke into this mans apartment to murder him?
Exactly
Agreed
Whelp the judge just ruled that the jury can consider castle doctrine. What an absolute joke. They’re going to acquit.
Which is a dumbass thing because it wasn’t her home and she claims to have heard someone behind the door—she should have called for backup and waited. And then realized what a dumbass she was
She will get manslaughter or unjustifiable homicide. She already admitted to manslaughter practically. Her negligence led to his death
Honest question - did they ever say what happened between when she opened the door and saw him sitting on the couch and when she shot? To me that is the biggest factor but every story I've read goes straight from A to B which either means she shot him while being in no immediate physical danger or they are glossing over important details and if so why?
She’s saying that she shot him after asking him to put his hands up. Her neighbors didn’t hear any shouts and Botham isn’t here to tell us his version.
Well there you have it, guilty. I assume if there was evidence of him moving towards her that might have helped her case but the jury has the relevant facts and found her guilty.
Whelp she got 10 years in jail out of a possible 5-99. Will probably be out in less than 5 for good behavior.
Not in Texas, have to serve 5. She wont spend a day more than 5 though.
