Found out that a male coworker was recently promoted to my level, and is now being paid more than me. How to negotiate a higher pay and not make it about gender (even though it is)?
That moment when you’re hearing a presentation on the theme of Cannes being about diversity & inclusion and you look around realizing the 4 presenters are all WHITE DUDES in their 40s. SMH.
Please read about our awesome senior partner and US chairman of PwC LLP (aka captain of this boat) the humble Tim Ryan. So glad someone of his stature is taking a stand #PwCvalues http://fortune.com/pwc-diversity-tim-ryan/
Omg!! Just found out that that diversity episode from “The Office” was wrote by Ryan!! That’s one of my fav episode! (Week 3 of quarantine )
I have social anxiety and I feel like I am being punished because of that. I am not being promoted and was told to work on confidence even though my technical performance was outstanding. I wished I can just "work on my confidence" and boom. But it's not gonna happen like that. Diversity has been the hot topic these days. Why do we view shy people, introverts, socially anxious people as less capable? Should I accept that PA is not for me or can I do something to contribute?
Sorry if this is a bad question but I’ve tried to google and found conflicts. I’ve seen a lot on social media to not use the term “person of color” when referring to a black person. I’ve also seen companies touting diversity on Instagram like “30% black, 55% person of color...etc.”. I’m wondering, what ethnicity/ races are they referring to when they say “people of color”? I’m guessing black +others? Is it everything non white (Latino, Asian, middle eastern etc)? Is it only some Asians?
arrived last year in US. i haven't seen much diversity in desi populations here. dont see many ppl from north , north east , east and central india ..what is the reason ..thoughts?
Why isn't the finance industry more diverse despite trying to be more inclusive? Is it due to the talent pool itself lacking diversity? Or do the powers that be still favor white males?
Got asked if I feel more discriminated by my gender, race or how young I look 🤔 Great conversation starter
Pushing for programming/education/training as part of a newly formed D&I initiative & need ideas: what are examples of relevant, much-needed, & successful LGBT events that your firms have hosted? TY 🙏🏼
Does anyone's firm actually actually promote and make use of employee resource groups (e.g. Latino employee group) or are they just there to check the diversity & inclusion check box
Asked to present yesterday and only given one hour beforehand to prep. When asked “may I ask why was I selected”, response was, our panel is lacking diversity. Coordinator was black female...really?
My Facebook feed included a promoted message from PwC's Tim Ryan wherein he reiterated the firm's commitment to D&I. It's all a gesture and it's not my firm, but it made me happy to read.
If I didn’t know that Trump was born into a lot of money, I would have thought that he came out of the ghettoes of Brooklyn. Because, clearly the only difference between him and his base supporters is the money. He is a pure manifestation of the most prejudice and racist beliefs of his base supporters who hate the diversity of America deep inside but afraid to voice it out loud. Just my opinion.
Made partner last year and was appointed to lead my firm's D&I program. Have a lot to do but don't know where to start. Any advice or best practices?
CDs don’t kill good ideas based on the race or gender of the person presenting them. Nobody has time for that shit when deadlines are looming.
There is a lot of discussion about gender discrimination and providing extra support to women, which I agree is a good thing. But it’s a reality that there are many women who have had much more ...
Quite a few diversity posts have popped up, here are my thoughts and would like yours too: the end goal should be to have a work force that is representative of our country. Cont.
