Mass Mutual: how’s comp? Culture?Thoughts?
Hi All,
Need suggestions here. Please help me out. I was interviewed with IBM and got selected. Waiting for offer letter. Meanwhile got selected in another company and got offer too. Put down my ppr. Offer from another company is way beyond than IBM almost 22% more in terms of fixed. Now I’m confused that once IBM releases their offer then should I ask them to match with my holding or not ? Will they consider for negotiations? What’s your thoughts? IBM
Hi all....just checkng if I am at the avg salary band or lesser for my exp. I have 15 yoe in Support and IT operations with 24 LPA package. Can this be considered avg for the yoe. The reason am asking is many companies that i have applied for have a much lesser salary budget? Not sure if this is the reason companies so not consider for interview.....Tata Consultancy Infosys IBM Accenture Cognizant

definitely not. It's better to initiate this conversation right off the bat to determine if you're mutual fits
Depends - if you slow roll that discussion, you can build leverage and finesse your way into an offer you like (assuming your the top choice). Negotiating is about who has more info.
If you’re not desperate to leave, setting expectations is a way to avoid a lengthy interview process for an offer you would not take (I.e., I won’t consider individual contributor roles or I need to make at least X otherwise I’m losing money to my current situation).

If you have a good idea of the market value and you’re aiming for a compensation on the higher end of that range, it’s a good idea to bring it up sooner rather than later.
I always have that discussion up front because different tech companies have different comp philosophies so you should find out what that companies philosophy is.
E.g. My friends at Netflix know that they’re paid top of market, so they’re at 90th percentile for their role, so need to make sure others can match that upfront.

Not at all. In fact, you’ve done a disservice if it doesn’t come up in the first 30 minutes.
