I interviewed with Amazon for a corp counsel role. After the debrief, I was told the hiring manager would like me on the team but as an ACC, and I should hang tight for a few more days before they give me a decision. Today, I was informed the HM passed but is recommending me for another ACC role on a different team. I’m worried I’ll end up with no offer after initially thinking I was getting one. Has this happened to anyone else?

Just make sure you are reading the job description & you meet all the Basic Qualifications & they are on your resume. We can’t assume you have agile just because you’ve been a PM for 15 years, we need to see it & where you’ve used it. If you meet any of the preferred qualifications put those on your resume as well. The only time it looks bad is when your applying for jobs you don’t qualify for. We don’t care if your resume is 3 pages, we want to see what you’ve accomplished!! Good luck!! Big enterprise companies don’t have time to mix & match!!
Super helpful, thank you!

Some companies will note in the job description to only apply for X number of positions in a set time frame.
Good to know, thank you!
Hello,
It truly depends on the HR recruitment process. However, generally speaking, if the hiring manager finds out that you applied to a Product Management Role, Portfolio Management, and say Project Management role, they will concur that you do not know what you want and have no passion in any specific direction.
To avoid this, some firms usually have a job posting for folks that do not see a particular role that they fit in but they still wish to apply. It's up to HR to then mix and match accordingly.
Regards,
Thank you! This is really helpful as you hit on the exact roles that I wanted to apply for. Both job postings are in alignment with my experience and it’s good company so I will put some thought into which one is better fit for me.
