If I chose to keep my own phone (not a separate Deloitte phone) does Deloitte reimburse my phone bill?

There's absolutely no reason to do this. Even if you keep your own phone you still have to install all of the apps and give control of it to the firm if you're going to have email on it. Just get the firm phone and it's covered 100%.

You don't need two phones if your concern is control and privacy. The control is only in the case the phone is lost or stolen. In terms of privacy they see nothing nor do they care. If you want peace after hours and the weekends, then folks go with two phones. I'm fully capable of ignoring emails, calls, and texts when I'm not available so I go with the single phone. Through employers I haven't paid a mobile phone bill in 20 years and I'm not going to start now.

You’d have to move your line into the Deloitte plan and then they reimburse a portion of it (usually they pay 80%/you pay 20%)

I'll be renovating my house (gut all existing bathrooms and kitchen, extend house to make room for an extra bathroom). It's currently my primary residence but I likely have to move in early 2022 to another city where I also own a house and then I plan to rent my current residence via Airbnb. What should I consider from a tax perspective? For example, if my current residence becomes an investment property before or when I renovate, does the renovation count as a tax deductible expense?

My employer doesn't care where we live so long as we can get to an airport. I grew up in a small town, so it wouldn't be a shock to me, just worried about how it may affect my career trajectory.
