If I get an offer next week Tuesday, when should I provide my resignation and 3 weeks? I have my performance review on Thursday and we are eating at a restaurant so I have no idea what to do if I get this offer lol

I would advise putting in your resignation after you sign the job offer and make sure your background check comes back clear with no discrepancies. I do some recruiting and people have put in their two weeks at their current job after verbally accepting the offer only for us to rescind their job offer due to their background check results that goes against our company policies.

+1 to this. I’ve had to rescind offers in the past as well. Do resign until you’re a sure in with your new company.

like

I would advise taking your time accepting the offer. Employers are STRUGGLING to hire right now. They can likely wait 48 hours for you to accept/decline once you have the information you need.

like

Well you can wait a week and just have a two week notice

My joining date is tomorrow in TCS but still I did not get onboard email. Recruiter is saying bgv is still pending and delay of joining. Why delay in bgv process and postpone the joining date in TCS? Any idea how many days they can postpone joining date due to BGV process. When I check with recruiter, they are saying 80% of BGV process is completed and trying to get the approval from bgv team. I am bit worrying that how many days it takes for onboard.

Hello everyone,

I am currently a HR Generalist for a small aerospace company, located in CA. I have been in a generalist role for a little over 4 years now and before that, I did recruiting/safety for about 3 years. I am now looking into getting my HR Certification, but am stuck in between the PHR-CA or the SHRM-CP. Does anyone have any recommendations they can give me?

Advice- My team were all given a raise in March except me. I brought it up to my manager who recently started. First reaction was I am still new and a raise wasn’t warranted. I told him 2 other recruiters on my team started when I did. He said he would need to look into it. Today he told me 3 of my HM’s don’t feel supported (despite having the 2nd most hires) and I could either resign or go on a PIP. I’m the only minority on my team have double the req load and supporting the most dept.

I had my PHR back in early 2000, then made a career change to a paramedic (I know, right). I called SHRM and they said I'm eligible to test again even though I only currently have 1.5 yrs of HR.

I purchased the online study guide and it seems that HR has gone in a completely different direction - more operations related than employee relations etc.

Did anyone find this online training to be helpful? I test in July, so any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks - lauren
