If I have 3 years of experience, up to what year of experience should I apply to jobs for? It is ok to apply to positions that ask for max 5?

I never understand these questions. Apply to everything for which you hit ~50% of the qualifications. It takes like ten minutes to apply to a job and you lose absolutely nothing by trying. I had roughly 5YOE and was applying to pretty much everything below asking for 15YOE. I got interviews and offers for positions I was in no way qualified for if you went solely off the posting requirements. You never know, just try.

Thank you for the advice. This would be my second job so I didn’t know how recruiting works beyond entry level. This gives me hope.

Anyone dealt with age discrimination at work or thought they were fired because of it? I have a strong hunch I was let go because I'm older than most of the team and they're trying to get a "fresh perspective." To me it just sounds like they're firing anyone over 50.

Has anyone figured out how to not feel absolutely horrendous when you wake up? I dread mornings because waking it so hard for me.

I prioritize getting 7-8 hours of sleep (this is the best I can do at the moment with work and a small baby) and I’ve stopped drinking because even 1 beer seems to make the morning 10x worse. Anything else I can try?

Anyone taken REG this Q yet and can give insight on what areas were heavily tested on for you? It's my last exam and I'm on a marathon to pass it before FAR expires. First time I took it last November resulted in me getting a 74 and losing all motivation to study after being so close to finishing, so I honestly haven't touched Becker in almost a year and don't even remember which areas are the big ticket ones to focus on. Any advice would be much appreciated.

If the same company is hiring for two very similar but different positions and you qualify for both, do you apply to both? Additional caveat is that I interviewed for one of them last week. No word yet on whether I made it to the next round. Would gladly accept either position, but not sure how it would look if I apply for the second position while still being considered for the first. On the flip side, I don't want to miss the window on the second position while waiting to hear back...thoughts?

I’m currently at a medium sized tech startup. I was interviewing for a role that would be a bump in pay and title at a multinational public F50 company. At first, the hiring manager and head of legal were very complementary about my experience. Almost too much so. After a week of interviews with the team (softball-esq), I was informed that if I wanted to join, they would bring me on at a lower title. I’m not sure about comp yet. But if comp is still an increase + experience at a public..

Reasonable base compensation expectations for regional general counsel position (direct report to CLO)? From what I can tell, company revenue is $500M - $1B (privately held company, so tough to know); construction industry (infrastructure / energy / mining); midwest headquarters. I’d be at the lower end of the experience requirements. Looked at MLA report, but looking for additional thoughts/opinions. Thanks!
