I've received 2 offers to FAANG companies this year as Sr Product Mgr, got along brilliantly with the teams, but ultimately neither were willing to help process my visa in this climate. I know folks have it more rough, but feeling pretty bummed out.
Any FAANG companies here? 👀
How hard is to get into FAANG companies as an Engineering Manager with 10+ years of tech consulting background? I have been working as a delivery lead in our tech practice. I would rather want to work as an EM than a TPM.
Best companies to try for operations / bizops? I know a lot of people talk about the faang companies but might be hard to move after just a year here ibm
What are typical backgrounds for people who go into product management at FAANG companies?
Has anyone here transitioned from data science to data engineering? What skills are needed to succeed at top tech/FAANG companies as a data engineer?
What are some of the best non FAANG companies that we can target for program management or biz ops roles?
Scrum Master (non-Tech), is it realistic to expect 200k for FAANG companies? with 1 YOE.
Anyone have insight into FAANG R&D teams, eg Facebook Reality labs or equivalent? Considering exits from innovation consulting
Starting application process to FAANG and other tech firms. For those who have recruited, what’s the end-to-end timeframe? Trying to see when to start the process if my goal is to leave by end of October. I also will be able to get referrals from google, fb, and amazon, not sure if that speeds up the process . Thank you
Can explain the Levels in FAANG companies? (e.g. L5, L6, L7) how do they correlate to consuming levels? what’s the minimum YOE for each?
At what point is it considered optimal to make the jump from Big4 to FAANG? I've been a Tech Consultant at EY for a little under a year and, while I like the company very much, I do very little actual technical work. Experienced hire, Senior, 130k base. I'm very tempted to jump over to Amazon (despite their reputation for frugality). Do I attempt to make the switch now or wait until I get promoted to Manager?
Ugh, starting next week I’m going back to being unemployed for the first time in about 10-years. I’m not sure if I should go back into the Ad world or one of the FAANG companies.
What’s generally standard among FAANG companies for offer acceptance once one is extended? If anyone has experience with this, is it one week or is it more flexible? I am trying to schedule final onsite with two companies and hoping I can get timing to line up (in the event I am fortunate enough to have offers).
2yrs of post-undergrad experience at D and have offers from two FAANG companies. Worth it to stick it out for a couple more years to open up more offers down the road, or should I get out while I can?
Has anyone ever had two W-2 jobs at two different FAANG companies at the same time? Were there any company policies against it?
How easy is it to move between groups at FAANG? Example, moving from AWS to Amazon Music, or moving from Google to YouTube? TIA!🙌🏼
Next week FAANG earnings begin with NFLX and following 2 weeks all the big boys go. Are earnings going to be catalyst for next leg up or next leg down? I don’t think better than expected works anymore like it did in the summer. One thing to note though all the major tech companies but Apple are trading below where they did at Q3 earnings.
I feel like most FAANG companies exist solely to sell our information - surprised that so many of you would want to work for one of these places....
Story for the ages. Got the airport at 3pm , flight was cancelled after a 3 hour delay, no flights available till Saturday, and bag is checked in at the airport so I am SOL. But I got an Old Fashion
Question for all but especially Europe/Germany based fish: Appropriate way to handle the “how much do you want/range” question? Not desperate for the job but do really want it. Concerned with searching during COVID. Only a handful of consulting YOE behind me (but tons of industry exp).
I am moving geographies and so in a bit of dilemma. The hiring manager reached out for a consultant level role, a level down from my current title. She said the Sr. con role just filled up so either I could interview for consultant level position or wait for a few months when Sr. Consultant positions opens up. I have limited client facing experience since I went from backend to front end and also opportunity to move to desired geography. Not sure how to tackle this smartly. Any thoughts?
Does anybody have advice/know about resources for folks whose anxiety is severely triggered by interviewing? Does anybody know a coach or somebody to practice with to try to build up some confidence?
Recruiter from Deloitte reached out to me on LinkedIn regarding a cloud strategy role, and I accepted. I don’t actually have a desire to leave Accenture, only been here a year, but I decided it couldn’t hurt to try and see what they’re offering. What should I expect and what are they looking for in this call?
Quick question, YE conversations are in the 3rd week of July for me, 85% is the utilization target and I'll be at or just above 84% by the time the conversations happen. Do you think it'll be held
Wondering how freelance producers are doing in this climate. I was let go when a project ended. Have heard most agencies are trying to use staffers since clients are cutting way back
Anyone at SFO right now?
Since wfh started in March this is longest I’ve gone without getting sick. Not a sore throat, no phlegm, no sniffles, nothing! Before I would get a mild sickness every other month or so. Yay for less people mingling! 🙌
Anyone ever consider moving to another city for their partner? I’m having such a hard time finding a new job during covid, I’m rethinking it all! Not really but that’s how frustrating it is.
would it look bad to go from UG to 1 yoe in industry to 6 months at tier 2 to starting at mbb? concerned it is too much job hoping that may be looked down upon in mba apps or PE recruiting
Slalom Seattle - How’s growth going? Any increase in benefits - 401k match or standard PTO? Heard it’s on low side.
Thoughts on leaving before finding a new job? Feel like I don’t have the time to really search for something new. I have about month and a half of PTO payout at 24 years old and have a decent amount saved up.
One of my Kinders refuses to go to the bathroom at school. I have a bathroom in my classroom and there is a bathroom at the playground. He will hold it until he wets his pants. I have tried everything that I know of to get him to use the bathroom. I’ve talked with my principal and the school counselors and have tried everything that they have come up with. Nothing is working. Mom and dad both say that this is the only place he does this at. He will go just fine outside of school. Suggestions?
I am so sick of being asked to give up my associates to other jobs. When does MY client get priority?! Even when time is booked, people call and bitch to schedulers until they get my associates. 😤
