Ya if you did drugs in the last year and report it on a clearance form I don't think you will get it
To apply you have to have been drug free for one year. Clearance forms will ask for a 7 year history however so if you’ve smoked occasionally over that 7 year period you have to note it (or any other abused drug). Certain agencies though have hard rules about it. For example, USCBP doesn’t allow for any drug use ever even for a public trust, FBI requires 10 years free of drugs. Other agencies have their own standards but there is no clear cut rule. Be truthful but if you have to take a polygraph, don’t expect to pass. You will fail just stuck to your story. Never change it. And hope your references don’t tell them anything you didn’t. The biggest disqualifier is lying
I smoked weed in high school and college. Told them about it, and still got a TS. It just depends on how longs it’s been since you did it.
Depends on the clearance level sometimes, but most important is that you do not lie on the forms or in interviews. That's an automatic rejection.
We’ve had two people get turned down for public trust by civilian agencies for marijuana within the last year.
They did not get fired. It wasn’t in their offer letter and we found them another project
