If I join Deloitte's AML group for two years and then go back to B-School, will I be able to go back into PI type work again after I graduate?

Yes. Your internship will be important too

I mainly just want to join the AML group so that I can be 100% travel.

You WILL be. So. Much. Travel.

D1 all NYC travel mainly? I'm based in DC but may move to Charlotte.

If you stay in DC or CLT, 100% travel. NYC is a toss up, but still more likely than not to travel.

Be ready for a big hit to work/life if you're on the road that much. Not sure how important it is to you, just want you to go in eyes wide open

Where would I be traveling to though? Just travel to NYC every week?

I have been like 80% travel at EY, and I have a personal reason for needing to travel, so I'm not too concerned.

Project dependent; sometimes great cities, other (most) times not so much. The huge projects tend to have good locations and expense policies, but there's always the chance you spend two years on a project in the middle of nowhere. I realize it's true everywhere, but just trying to give the insiders perspective

What are some examples of great cities that you've heard of project in? How about worst cities? You've got me considering now haha

I am interested in joining Deloitte's AML group as well. Any advice for lateral transfer ?

We have AML practice?

Yup. ^ within Advisory

I was in that practice...tons of ppds and SM left. Writing is on the wall. 90% of projects are in NY

Why did the PPDs and SMs leave?

Why not join EY's AML group?

Would get a big pay jump to join Deloitte haha

Fair enough

AML was its own practice and was bringing in serious $$$. After the whole restructuring, AML partners had to face too much red tape. The global head of AML left just this past month. If you want to work long hours and be around ppl that will have no remorse about throwing you under the bus...join DTBA.

Kind of random question: what do seniors and above wear to work in Deloitte's AML practice or is it engagement specific? I know at EY, it's a lot of wearing dress pants and dress shirt, no tie or jacket.

Received a verbal job offer on Tues. $5k short of what I had said was my desired range but still up from my current salary. We set up a call for Thurs to discuss further. On Wed they sent me all benefits info. Thursday on the call I asked if we could either increase moving stipend or get closer to my desired salary. They said no, and I asked them to send over written offer and I would let them know by Fri. They then email they are no longer offering me the position and repost it the next day:

I work as a Solutions Engineer with primarily Enterprise clients. I’ve been in the field for 5 years now and in that entire time I’ve supported AEs directly through the Sales process as part of my technical job. What salary range should I realistically look for given this brief description of my experience?
