Considering an opportunity at UBS Switzerland for Senior Consultant role at their internal consulting arm. ~ 6 YoE total, of that 3.5Y in FO Trading, 2.5Y management consulting --> likely being promoted from L9 to L7 at end of year. What would be the salary range for this position? I am not sure, whether this falls under AD or D band? Also, should I wait for the promotion, and leverage the new title for new opportunities?

I’m risk adverse. Put in notice moment the bonus hits your account.
This!
Bonus in your account first if it’s sizable. They will have the right not to give you it if you leave first. They may still provide it but they don’t have to.
Don’t make a 20k+ mistake. Wait for the deposit
You can also negotiate to have the offer cover the bonus you’ll be missing, but I’d also wait to put in notice after the money is in your account
I love this question…happens every year. ‘If I dump my gf/bf, will they still buy my valentines dinner in two weeks?’
Wait until it’s in your bank account, absolutely
I mean if your bonus stinks do what you gotta do, but if you put in your notice and that bonus isn’t in your account, don’t expect to see a penny of it.
Are you at Guidehouse currently? If so, wait until the bonus hits your account. They don’t pay out bonuses if you’ve turned your notice in.
No. Put 2 weeks in the day yiur bonus hits the bank. Otherwise you won’t get it.
Just a reminder that the "2 weeks notice" thing is not an actual obligation - it's usually just a courtesy, intended to give your employer time to get their ducks in a row to replace you. You can wait until the bonus hits and then give a one week notice. I doubt giving 1 week instead of 2 will lead to any burnt bridges if done politely and respectfully.
Some companies flag you as ineligible for rehire if you give less than two weeks notice. Best to give at least two weeks to be on safe side
Same boat. Waiting for bonus to hit my paycheck before I give my two weeks.
Op - why not push your start date back a week or two and get both?
Bonus is a over a month away plus the 2 weeks notice. That’s 6 weeks already + if I wanted to take a week or two personally that’s almost 2 months. Wasn’t sure if that was too long.
Why would they give you your bonus if you told them prior to them paying it out?
I did before bonus/promo as I don’t want to burn bridges. It’s a dope team and I respect that. I am not sure how situation would have played out if I did get promo/bonus and then put in 2 weeks.
Really glad it played out that way for you, G1. But thinking that’s the normal way firms handle bonus payouts is naive. These are businesses that care about their bottom line and Guidehouse’s policy is to not payout bonuses if you put in your notice prior to receiving it.
Ok bonus is less than $7500 before taxes so I might bring home 5 stacks. Would you stay for that?
