If I put in my two weeks today and my last day is next month, do I have insurance until the end of this month or next month?

FYI, you can be uninsured for up to 60 days, then elect COBRA retroactively if something happens

like

You're paying in full. But, if you have low/no health expenses, then don't make the retroactive election and pay nothing

Typically you are covered til end of month. Always good to quit say 12/1 versus 11/39

Be careful with this rule of thumb if you already have your new job it is often beneficial to START employment effective on the first of a month especially if the month is January. Many bonus plans require you to have been employed by April 1 (for example) to qualify for a year end bonus in the first year and many pension plans only count years of service starting with the first full calendar year so you can lose a whole year if your official start date is Jan 2 instead of Jan 1.

Hi all - figuring out loan options. Does anyone know if it’s better to choose:
A.) a longer term loan with a higher interest rate and overpay each month (0.5% higher interest, ~300 less in payment each month)
B.) a shorter term loan with a lower interest rate and meet the monthly payment exactly

Or how to calculate the better option?

Currently working as an estimator for Progressive. I work from home 100% of the time from the Boston area. I am looking for any in-site into other work from home insurance jobs. I’m starting to explore new companies but places all tend to have their own wording for what they call a position. Looking for ideas on what they pay as well. Let’s be real, nobody likes wasting time on a application and interview to get a lower offer. Thank you.

Hello everyone,

I’m looking for some direction. My girlfriend is looking to go into tech consulting. She studied kinesiology and has 2 years of experience. She worked within clinical and non-clinical settings (e.g., consumer goods) on the business side of things (e.g., ERM, health & safety)

How much should be targeting for a tech consultant role?

Currently I work for a mid-sized InsureTech that’s had 2 rounds of layoffs in the past 6 months. Salary is 100k, with no defined bonus. I have close to 4 years of PO experience. I am debating whether I want to leave since my boss is very chill and I have amazing WLB. Benefits are eh. 15 PTO days and healthcare premiums are okay. Should I jump ship? What could I be making at a bigger company? What types of companies are most stable right now?
