If I quit and pass my last exam - would the partner still sign off for the cpa?

Thank you P1! 😊

Yes, they should. This is a professional thing and an expectation.

They will eventually, but it might sit on their desk for a while as you won’t be a priority.

There’s a professional responsibility to do it, so they won’t let it sit too long. I’ve seen CPAs get in trouble in the state board report for not doing that quickly enough.

Don’t tell me you guys don’t wait for the list of bad behavior every month.

Depends on the partner, we had a guy refuse.

Seriously? Do they not get in trouble by the board?

Why not have them sign before you passed the last exam? As long as you fulfilled the work experience time it should be able to be signed before (aka before you quit too)

Yeah! I’m going to just finish my last exam and get the certification prior to leaving.

Hi,
CCTC including all benefits is 16.57 with 8.3 YOE, primarily focused on Manual Testing.
Is it worth looking for another opportunity?
I am afraid after seeing layoffs news of EPAM, Publicis Sapient & most of the other companies calling employees in the office.

Last Spring I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. When I was diagnosed, I think I had had it for several years. My doctor put me on a diabetes med (my A1C was 10.2 and my blood sugar was 270). I knew I didn’t want to deal with the adverse effects of this disease, so I made some drastic dietary changes, started exercising, and brought my blood sugar down. I am now back in the pre-diabetic range, and I got off my diabetes meds. I lost 40 lbs. and feel great! Take care of yourselves! It’s important

I work as an Associate at a VC fund. I started working at the company almost a year ago. We recently looked to hire another associate for the fund. I ran the search and we found a candidate we liked and then I found out that the other candidate got offered $15K more than what I am making.

For context, I am the only non-parter on the investment team so there is no one else to compare myself to.

Feeling demotivated. Has anyone else experienced this?

For my tax folks - if someone did not live in a state in 2015 but they have been notified of a levy saying they owe taxes in that year and have had their license suspended, does the TP have any..contd

Is it me or does the newer generation value more intangible things that aren’t easily measured like work-life balance, fulfillment and purpose in work. Which makes it difficult for firms because that’s not something that is easily measured. Also, this is why there is “value” in crypto, NFTs and the metaverse. It’s a clash of the generations that value tangible things like money, houses, cars and one that values time, experiences, personal online image. Thoughts?

Hi Everyone,
I hope life is treating you well.
I recently moved to Ottawa from Louisville, Kentucky, and I am looking for an accounting job in Ontario or Quebec. I have work experience in Tax& Finance and an MBA in Accounting. I was wondering if any of you could refer me for an open position in your company ( after we’ve had a chance to talk, of course) or put me in contact with a member of your hiring team.
Please let me know if any of you would be comfortable doing so.

Thanks,
Sarah
