I don't think you're going to get any freedom back if you're starting a business. If anything you'll probably need to spend more time than you did at your current job. But hopefully you're more passionate about it 😁
If you're in audit don't quit in January or February in the middle of busy season. Quit beforehand if anything. Also, make sure you got your reimbursement from the firm for your CPA license. Don't leave free money on the table.
If your boss already signed the evidence of experience you can quit
Love it.
Congrats on what I presume is your new job?
Most likely you can quit, but if there are any hang ups in your application that need resolution, you might have wished that you stayed.
Been juggling work, CPA, and time put in to start an online business. With CPA out of the way I can fully focus on getting my freedom back!
Certainly beats the hours taken to do all three, especially when I believe in my work! Correct, gotta enjoy what you do
Why quit now? Coast until the end of the year!
When would you suggest, January? February? Wouldn't want to screw over a busy season team without advance notice
I did it and didn't have any problems.
Oh most definitely making sure I get my money, should actually come back to me next PP. No one should strong arm you into staying an additional few months because it suits others, especially if personal advance notice is given, IMO
My point was is there any reason to even suffer through a few weeks of busy season if you can avoid it? I would be out of there the minute the money hit my account. You can quit without pissing off people or wasting your own time.
I might have misinterpreted your point then. I agree. Not worth it.
