Accept the offer in hand. Then continue to play with these guys. I think the way they are behaving their offer likely isn’t going to be great and will make you feel good having accepted the offer from the other employer. Now if this firm however comes up with an offer that is so much better (and CIO didn’t give you any bad vibes/red flags) than go for it. Obviously you have to go back on your offer from another firm but in this market that isn’t unexpected any more. Look out for yourself.
Hi OP, fair question since I am going off your brief note and not data. A gut feeling /life experience;) I have at least 50% chance of being correct. Either way my advice for you is to find out. If you feel like it drop me a note whether I was correct. Maybe my gut needs fine tuning…
Wow that's tough. Seems like a good chance you'll get the offer though if you already passed the hiring manager, right? You could try to ask the other place to extend your deadline to accept/decline their offer
