The firm doesn't give employees 3 months notice when they have layoffs. Why should you give them a courtesy that they don't give you?
I wouldn't give them that much notice. Don't feel too bad if you plan on leaving in a few months. Do you have another job lined up? If not, job hunts take longer than expected
I wouldn't tell them personally until you have another job lined up
You're only needed until you're not needed.
Volunteering such info:
Potential upside for you = nothing
Potential downside = they fire you
Choose wisely
Don't do it until 2 weeks before when you already have a new job lined up
Listen to EY2. You don't owe them shit. You're not "needed" for anything. We're all replaceable, staff, seniors and even partners.
Why would you willingly volunteer so much information that could potentially harm you? I bet you're terrible at poker, huh?
So this is how it looks like when you pull the trigger during Russian roulette and there's a bullet in the gun
I have heard people get removed from those jobs and then put on the worst stuff ever. My friend did that and got sent to San Fran office for a month while he waited for his last day.
Yeah leave when you find a new job and give 2 week notice
2 weeks, not a day more
You only think you're needed though..
They'll walk you out the door
