Has anyone recently had a demotivational talk from firm leadership that made you start looking for another job when you previously weren’t? PWSP recently had one where the dangers of “quiet quitting” got brought up, and no acknowledgement of hard work was had. After a couple of 300 months this year, I gotta say - really a miserable lecture to sit through.

That feeling when you are struggling to get your many deals off your plate so you can have a break but then realize that it will just get filled with (gasp) *new deals* once you whittle the current ones down. Absolute dread. I guess this means it’s probably time for me to quit. I imagined these deals being my last ever, and it was pure joy (plus a lot of relief).

How do partners judge laterals that took a class cut? Do you assess them against their class peers or against their years of experience? (Say the person had a LLM or a foreign law degree so they actually have 5 years of experience but are getting billed out as a 3rd year)

What’s the chance for LLMs (foreign LLB law degree + US LLM degree) to get into big law in NY (assuming one is licensed as well)?

I’m a first year associate and I hate it. I regret choosing biglaw so much. It’s not so much the hours even, but the content of what I do (HCPE) feels wrong to me, and the amount of time I spend working on non-billable projects just to be yelled at for not billing crazy numbers. I want to get out, but I don’t even know what my exit options would be this early on - I want to be done with private practice forever. Am I just stuck until I have more experience?
