If I wanted to join the staff of a PR firm after never working an agency (10 YOE including 6+ as nonprofit comms director and almost 3 in-house for a B2B as marketing specialist) and my skills are more broad than niche- what is an equitable starting place/ title if my experience is pretty extensive but my years of working aren’t adequate for a senior agency role? I've always felt that I was good at my job until recently. I've been promoted throughout my career but over the last eight months I've lost confidence. I've been in the role for a year and a half. It's my first people management role. Previously I was an individual contributor at the manager level. My mentors always express confidence in me. Now I'm not sure if people management is for me or maybe it's just consulting. Any recommendations on how to sort through what the best path for me is?

How do you manage tax implications of equity grants? My company has been paying me bonuses in stock (and cash). The grants gradually turn into stocks, at which point they are taxed as income (so 400 granted stocks is returned at 100 per year for 4 years, but I only see 50 each time because its taxed as income). At that point, I believe I'm liable for capital gains tax for value increase.

I've been offered an outrageous sum of money to lead PR for an initiative that I am frankly, morally opposed to. What they're doing is slightly manipulative. Of course, all marketing can have that touch, and with more benign things it doesn't bother me, but now I'm at a crossroads. This could really advance my career as it involves high touch with a lot of contacts and names that would be incredible on so many levels. I'm really struggling. What would you do?
