If I was bad at audit and didn’t enjoy the work at all but love industry due to the technical accounting aspect would I enjoy accounting advisory? Been at my company for almost a year now and the tasks are mind numbing and repetitive and I do not feel like I’m learning anything. I love the people and the culture of the company but am worried about career advancement. I do not handle stress that well and value work-life balance, but feel as if I have too much currently.

I'm sick of both public accounting and tax. Does anyone have advise to me as someone with 5 years of PA experience, wanting to enter industry as a Controller or similar role?

Just got into a full time grad program for international affairs that starts in January of 2021. (completely changing careers).
