I posted a while ago that I had a pro bono client in Afghanistan who was seeking a SIV for himself and his family. They were located really far from Kabul so we were trying to find alternate ways out of the country while doing whatever we could to get his SIV application through. Well…I just learned that my client and his family were killed today. And I cannot focus on anything else. I feel like I failed.

I work with a classroom of Middle School ED students. One student, who I worked with the year before, has changed alot over the year. Last year (pre COVID), she had a good head on her shoulders and I thought I had good rapor with her. But over that period of isolation, she tried to commit suicide.
