A BCG recruiter ghosted me after she reached out to schedule an interview. How long should I wait before following up? What is the common courtesy to give to ppl at BCG. I don’t wanna come off as too aggressive but I really need to get this interview set as there are other pending confirmations Boston Consulting Group

For BCG I’d recommend Gamma rather than Platinion for DS.
Idk about coolest data; FAANG seems like it has a lot of cool user/usage data that is very deep and well structured. Consulting clients have a range of analytics maturity, so you have some clients who have proper datasets and cloud infrastructure and some that working out of CSVs or worse. And then there are some cases that use DL, such as image recognition and computer vision projects.
It is quite interesting to work with data that relates to a variety of operations and sometimes create capabilities from the ground up, with a wider engagement and input on how they are used.
I suppose you would be a SME in a manner of speaking, but by default DS is a partner track position although there is the option to go on expert track later on. There will be slide making involved, but generally substantially less focus on that than you’d get as a generalist.

@OP, if you hate making slides, sorry --that doesn't really go away, especially if you're in a partner track position at Gamma.
If you really want to do hardcore data science, you should either consider Gamma or QuantumBlack. I'd skip all the other firms you mentioned.
And then you need to decide if you want to be the consultant who can work with some data science, or the data scientist who can do some consulting. The former is still working with a ton of slides. The latter is still getting their hands dirty with raw data
This. Go to Gamma, or what is now becoming BCG X
