I am currently at a company I have been at for 7 years and I get vested into a pension at 10 years. The pension is good but I do not enjoy my work anymore and there is limited to no mobility at my level. I was recently offered a global hrbp role for 30k more than I am making now. I’m not sure what to do! Do I stick out 3 years for the pension or take this new position?
Hi, I am a clinical pharmacist looking at going into healthcare consulting, however I’m struggling on how to make the transfer. Seeing how 401k’s, ira’s etc..are mostly based in stocks. What happens if we have another Great Depression and the stock market crash’s. Even if you have Real estate investments, if ppl can’t pay rent like with Corona, that’s not really helpful. So what are other ways in addition to those mentioned is there to help secure you into old age?
I just received an offer for a freelance position in my dream company, and at the same time, I have an FT offer from a tech company with benefits and everything. My freelance client is very chill and they are okay with me having FT on the side because at the moment they can't hire me as FT. They mentioned I can go up to 40hrs a week, so it's literally up to me. I don't have experience in legal stuff about working FT and freelance, from Google, it says it's okay as long as no COI. Please help!

Hello, I am a recent graduate from the university of Rochester with a dual degree in business and biology. I decided that I want to work in the cooperates world instead of pursuing a higher degree and my first full time job was dealing with health insurance. I have an interview with prudential for an investment operation associate position and I don’t really have any background in finance. Has anyone interviewed for prudential or is working at prudential who can give me some advices?
I am currently on maternity leave and feel the struggle to take care of a baby. Really cannot imagine what will happen after going back to work. Especially with COVID I am not planning to send my baby to day care unless vaccination has pretty good coverage. How do parents in big4 even survive? Need some advise to take care of both baby and work.

Anyone at CVS Healthcare has any insight as to the interview process? I am preparing for an interview for a Cash and Controls Senior Analyst position.
I’m returning to work from maternity leave can someone tell me if I can reach out to HR to discuss pay review/increase upon my return. I know for a fact through colleagues I’m the lowest being paid at this company. New comers make same amount or even more. How do I initiate this convo ?

I have two questions about buying a home before partner. Making MD this year and I am still living incredibly far below my means. Right now I have more or less run out of investment options and weighing purchasing a home or investment property vs sticking with putting more in the market.
(1) At a higher salary do you find investing in a home to be a good financial decision (tax benefits, asset appreciation)?
(2) Was it harder to purchase a home once you make partner (W2 vs K1)?
When did you retire/do you plan to retire? What did you make sure to have in place first? Any advice to the next generation?

My group has been using form 8453 for years to document e-file authorization from clients. We have recently started investigating form 8879 as an alternative since we don’t need to attach to xml when efiling. Can’t seem to find a reason why we would not be able to take this approach but want to make sure I’m not missing anything. Anyone been using 8879s for this purpose and any reasons why we would not be able to do so?

What are some industries/roles in Toronto that could compete with consulting comp salary wise, but offer better wlb?
Think it’s time for me to exit consulting, but I feel trapped - most industry jobs at my level/years of experience don’t seem to come close salary wise to what I currently make. Basically just staying where I am now for the $ but this job is taking a toll on my health.

Has anyone ever done a postnuptial agreement? At the time of marriage, my spouse and I were relatively equal in terms of finances. I recently came into a large inheritance, and have also had more rapid career success. I’m not trying to be cynical, just trying to be smart. Nobody thinks they will get divorced. This would make me feel much more comfortable. Any guidance?
I think our investments to the S&P500 at today’s levels will never see 7-8% long term growth rate.
We will be lucky if our investments are protected from inflation. It’s an insanely inflated market. There are negative rates all around the world while US has almost zero as well. We are a very unlucky generation.
