If I’m jumping ship within Management Consulting (think Big 4 to T2/MBB), is it odd to make an appreciate/farewell post on LinkedIn for past experiences given it’s essentially hyping up a competitor?

I'd just do a brief, thoughtful internal email.

But DONT make it about where you're going.

Following. I’m jumping D->T2, I wouldn’t make a LinkedIn post.

As a general rule of thumb: never post stuff on linked in.

like

No. Thank them for your experiences. Courtesy and manners never go out of fashion.

I thought this would be the norm, but surprised by all the responses here....

Yah I’m not planning to even have my linked in update show lol

For what it’s worth, reason I’m jumping is to work in an entirely different market & type of consulting. My prior firm doesn’t compete there, even if they wanted to.

I meant update LinkedIn title, experience, turn off the notification when you make the update so that they don’t get push notification of you joining somewhere more exciting. A bragging post is an absolute no for many ppl including myself. Just my two cents.

How soon is too soon to quit a job? I took what seemed like a great offer, with competitive pay, a hybrid schedule, and 15% travel. However, I’m about 1.5 months in and the job is miserable. I’m working 50 hour weeks with no breaks to keep up with the demand, there is minimal training or support, I can’t work hybrid yet, I get 24/7 phone calls, and they’ve asked me to travel once a month for the remainder of the year. At this point, I’m only staying for fear of how it will look on my resume.

Torn as how to request off as an S3. Could materialize to nothing but could be good for reconnecting.

Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general. I work for a 350~ company who is growing rapidly through M&A. Passions/interests are compliance, strategic vision, M&A, branding and culture

This is my first time posting on this app. I see here working professionals from almost all the big companies, so I would be really grateful if someone could help in switching from my current company.

Thank you
