If I’m looking at relocating across the country, do agencies normally offer some relocation money as part of the offer? What would be the standard to ask for?

The reason why you need to be relocated is really none of their business and you shouldn’t feel like you have to justify it. If they need someone with your skill set and can’t get it easily from the local talent pool, it’s in their best interest to get you there. Sometimes they’ll ask a few questions but it’s mostly to gauge if you plan to stay there a while or if you’re gonna find yourself in a strange city you hate and leave after 3 months. So as long as you say you really like that city, or you got family there, or you’re looking for a larger/smaller city, etc. That should be enough .

Perfect! And is it unreasonable for me to ask for one if it’s a personal move, and I approached them?

@OP nope. I’ve done it. Just because you approach them doesn’t mean they don’t want your talent. Moves should be focused on personal relationships with the area IMO. IE. I want to live near mountains so I moved to Seattle and asked for relo.

It doesn’t hurt to ask, but my agency for example won’t give any relo package to anyone under SVP

All through my time coming up through law school I had people talk about “make sure to befriend the paralegals,” “the paralegals know more than most attorneys,” etc. However, in my experience, paralegals and other support staff are pretty much useless for doing anything besides the very narrow house of tasks that they do every day. They push back on asking them to assist with anything else and are generally very unhelpful. Is the “helpful paralegal” meme just a myth or a memory from decades ago?

Recruiting for a Corporate Strategy role (individual contributor) for a non-profit focused on the Accounting & Finance professions.

Role is fully remote (no travel), incredible WLB (seriously), and comp is $85-$110K (all base, no bonus), depending on experience, which for this role, we are targeting 2-6 years of consulting, strategy, or other similar experience. This should be considered a pre-MBA role.

DM me for additional details if interested. Thank you!

Additional Posts in Salaries in Advertising & Marketing

I asked for a raise since I’ve been at my company for 1 year and because cost of living is up 6%. My boss recommended I hold off asking for a raise now and in 6 months he’ll see if I can get a promotion with a bigger raise bump.

He said even if I ask for a COL adjustment now it may make it harder to get the CEO to agree to a promotion in 6 months.

Thoughts?

I have been working in my job for a year now but I have 5 years of experience. I am technically doing 3 full time jobs - marketing manager, social media manager & part time recruiter for a trucking company. I am starting to become overwhelm and SEVERELY underpaid. I’m only at 45k for all of the work I do.

So my question is how do you ask for a raise? How much should you project for over what you’re already making? What should you have prepared to back up your reasoning?

I work for a small business and on March 4th I was offered a higher level position with a much higher set of responsibilities. I was excited and agreed pending a conversation regarding salary that was to take place one week later on 3/11. I immediately saw that I was being tasked projects and added to emails that had to do with my new title and as a team player, I did my part. On 3/11 I was only offered a $10k/year raise which was much lower than I expected… rest in comments
