Only day 2 of client engagement and I'm already exhausted. I don't know how you all do it.
In Amdocs what is RnD.
Is it any project or is it really Research and development.
P.s. One of my friend got selected for developer position in RnD
I joined EY GDS this month but not liking the work in the assigned project. It is not as per my expectations and not suitable as a developer. I have another offer from Bristlecone. Any suggestions? Should I continue working with EY GDS to have a brand name or switch to Bristlecone company (high probability of good project)
Thanks in advance!
What will happen if i deny to go to office while I am on my notice period?
WFO has been initiated in my project for people who are already in base location (like me)
They asked me to go but I postponed it by many excuses for a few weeks. Now they are saying I have to go next week and I cannot think of any new excuses.
Please suggest what will happen if i convey directly that I don't want to go at all.
Since I am already on my notice period is there anything they can do that will impact me?
I have an interview for Functional testing in EPAM anywhere on Monday(28th mar). And I applied through one of my cousins referral.
When I applied, the JD was different in LinkedIn and recently the JD for functional testing is different.
Currently linkedin shows EPAM hires for Finctional Api testing in which I have a knowledge but not experience. Will EPAM consider me or will they require API experience mandatory?or will they hire&deploy me to a project according to my skill set?
Any tips on how to build resilience? I’ve always wanted to be one of those people who can shrug it off if someone is rude to them, but when I have a client who is hostile/rude it can affect me for days!
Is it normal for every single call (client or internal) everyone dials in from their desks at an open format office? Everyone avoids takings calls together/conference rooms like the plague.
Plaintiff client provided counter-offer to settlement with defendant-company. One of the principals is now ill with Covid, and defense counsel said they will need more time to address the counteroffer. They’ve been sitting in this counter offer for 2 weeks. What would be a reasonable amount of time to wait for their counter offer before we decide to file a complaint? Do we wait?
Hi Sharks !
I had interview last month with TCS and HR and Project Manager discussed verbally on salary part and we agreed on. Now it's been month I am following with HR and they are saying it's in approval process yet and I have to join another organisation in less than 10 days and I haven't received anything from HR yet. Does anyone faced such issues ? Are they are delaying OL purposely ?

I have a 3rd round interview coming up that will feature a Python code read. It’s a client service engineer role at a fintech company. Anyone know how I can prepare for it?
Anyone regret going into data and analytics? Sometimes I feel like I'm too dumb for it. I don't have a statistics background to really take things to the next level, and my colleagues don't have the hours to help me. My technical skills are OK, but nothing to shout at, especially when I don't really have the interest to learn. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and steer my career to a boring client-side position instead.

Hi everyone. New to FishBowl so not so sure how to use it.
I am thinking of making a move to the UK and looking for opportunities in audit firms. I have almost 3 years of experience as an audit semi senior and currently an ACCA Affiliate (will become a member in 5 months). Would appreciate any help or guidance.
Hi, Please suggest on some of the negotiation response when you already have an offer and wants the upcoming recruiter to match to that offer. I would be grateful.

Does any one else feel that this is more of an Indian consultants bowl than a desi consultants bowl. I recognize that 2/3rd of the desi population is Indian so I understand the over representation but shouldn't most posts be more around issues that affect all desi consultants with the India-only topics being not as common. When I say India-only, I don't mean topics of professional nature with India focus which are obvs relevant but I feel spammed by Indian politics posts which I don't care about
Another Example of Indian Jugad.
How as a news channels do you solve the demands of a 24x7 news cycle.
Make News about each other, you can go into an infinite loop - problem solved.
India Today lies about Republic, Republic thrashes India Today, Times Now shouts about both. People watch them as Reality TV.
Innocent People are no longer victimized by these vultures (LW or RW) looking for the next story.
Everyone is happy.

Would law firms question if a first year refers a candidate that was met on Fishbowl? Obv they wouldn’t know the nature of how it happened, but would they be suspicious if there is no real tie btwn the candidate?
I don't get the Williams & Connolly apologists. There is 0 reason they are under market and there is no benefit to being there you can't get at a firm that doesn't underpay you.
First-year in a corporate specialist group (think eceb, tax, etc.). The training, mentoring, etc. has been basically non-existent compared to what my peers in the bigger corporate practices have and I feel like I'm not learning how to be a good lawyer. I've tried asking questions and showing that I'm engaged with the work but it hasn't helped. Apparently this group has an established reputation for not being the best at training so I don't think this is just a "me" problem. Cont'd...
Any insight into the Sidley’s corporate practice in NorCal? What types of clients do they work for? Thanks in advance!
Moved to Big Law last summer from mid sized firm, but I'm not sure if I'm performing well. I've worked on some good matters but last month or two has had quiet periods (1-2weeks) and a few of the matters I've been put on have been smaller discrete ones rather than a big M&A deal. Although the team isnt too busy overall. I haven't had a "talk" or any general negative feedback. Would the partners mention to me if my performance was below par or is this their way of showing it? Should I ask?
I think a partner got mad at me because I said I’ll get to something (non-emergency) by tomorrow (Sunday). He sent it on Friday evening…. Idgaf

What matters more - billable hours or quality of work? It seems like I have a good reputation for always being available, but personally, I don't think I am doing my best work as I'm overloaded. Does billing well matter more than quality work? Just started in the spring as midlevel.
I recently lateraled to big law from a medium to large sized firm. I was generally very happy with the people I worked with at the previous firm and moderately happy with the work I was doing. I left because I was concerned about the viability of the firm, but I really hate my new firm. People aren’t as nice as I’m used to, no positive reinforcement, etc. My old firm told me I was always welcome to come back. How long do I wait to go back if that’s ultimately what I decided I wanted to do?
🐠: if I would like to take up a senior colleague’s offer for mentorship, how can I build (embellish) this relationship? For context, same practice but different firms.
