No , ignore D1-staffing os purely about timing for the most part. Try finding short term roles or atleast some high visibility initiatives or something across service lines for the time being. In tech people are hard up for resources so no you dont get fired for being on the beach- just network like no tomorrow and let everyone know you are keen on getting staffed
Completely depends on the company. I know people who have spent very little time on the beach and aren't in a great spot. Also know a couple who spent 3+ months consecutively on the beach and are now top performers at the same firm
