If you’ve been told what it is, and it’s for a period of time (e.g. last fiscal year) that’s already passed I wouldn’t worry. That said I’m going by my experience and how we do things at Accenture. Best to check your contract to see what it says or wait. New month on Tuesday so not a long wait :-)
Generally the only requirement is if you are employed on the payout date. I doubt there’s a clawback provision. However, unless you are already given the amount as a commitment, my guess is if you resign ahead of time they could not pay it and you would have no real recourse. If it’s tied to a target you have met and it is owed, absent a specific provision it should be paid either way. For most people the timeframe isn’t long enough to worry about and they wait to payout to put in notice.
Have you been told what the bonus payout is?
Yes
