If my TC is 110k in Manhattan, and I want to max out my 401-k and save for an MBA, is living alone feasible? How much should I target on spending in rent?

Get a studio. It’s feasible. I was maxing out my 401k and IRA at $105k TC. Try to spend less than $1,400 per month.

UES? Sorry not too familiar with the lingo yet

Open excel, put in your post tax, post benefits, post 401k paycheck. Put in your monthly expenses (plus some cushion!). Figure out your free cash flow from that and see how much you accumulate. Deduct some for a vacation and unforseen emergency expenses. Tweak monthly costs from there 👍 Some expenses to consider: Rent, internet, utilities, phone, gym, laundry, haircut, meds, toiletries, food, recreation, transportation, insurance (eg renters or car that are not accounted for in the net paycheck), dates, streaming subscriptions, etc. Good luck!

It's wash and fold + dress shirts cleaning service where I drop off all my clothes in 2 duffles and they clean and return. Charge by the pound and $2 per shirt for dress shirts. Should be able to look up prices online or call. For just wash and fold by the pound I was surprised that it was only like $5 more than doing it myself lol

As I get into my 30s, I’ve noticed recruiters focusing more on maternity leave than anything else when I ask about benefits. I know that benefit is important to a lot of women, but as a child free person it kind of makes me uncomfortable that they are just almost assuming I want a baby because of my gender. Maybe just mention it instead of emphasizing it? It also makes me assume that companies might discriminate against me in the job process (which isn’t cool for anyone) over a man.
