If only a flight delay meant you got to work less hours that day

Anyone married to a white person here? What’s your experience been like with their family? Wife and I live across the country from our families, but my parents are the only ones who visit regularly to see us and our two babies. Wife’s family (mother, siblings) has gone on many trips to other locations, but never visit us. I’m fine not seeing them, but feel terrible for my wife. It’s as if we’re always the ones expected to travel to them, despite being the only ones with kids and a single income.

Travel sucks. I go between home and an apartment about 500 miles away. Flew this time and left the key at home. Locksmith and Uber after midnight. Yes, I take precautions about keys but the routine got messed up. Yes, there are definitely bigger problems in the world. *sigh*

For those who are traveling for work, can we expense fitness classes (Barry’s, Orange Theory, etc) when the hotel has a gym? Don’t think the expense policy clearly says we cannot.

Can anyone explain why agencies seem to favor hiring a ton of freelance people over full time creatives? I can’t imagine it’s cheaper than paying someone a salary.

I have a hard time getting heard on my team. All the men tend to speak louder and want credit. I had the expertise to help with a client meeting, so I offered. Everyone sort of raised their hand, and my “I have x and can help” got lost in the messages. So 20~ minutes later, a male offered, and immediately he was asked to come on to help. WHEN I literally said the same thing 25 messages up. I’m afraid of coming off too aggressive and ambitious, but I just want to help and be heard!
