If outside counsel is hosting a multi-day event and invites in house counsel to attend, who usually pays for the costs (flight, hotel, etc)? I’m new to in house.

One way or another, your company is paying the bill.

Your company usually does. But your outside counsel might waive the ticket fee.

I've just recently been hired as an assistant manager at a Canadian outlet store. It's a small company in comparison to others, but there are over 10 locations spanning western Canada and NW united states. I'm curious as to what others in a similar position are getting as salary. I was offered $42k plus bonuses at the interview, but when called back I was offered $44.5k plus bonuses. I already accepted. Did I leave money on the table here?

Hello all,

I’m a recent graduate of masters and currently have 2 offers in my hand.

1) One with CITI Bank with 100k salary and no sign on bonus and as it is in my home town as I stay with my family needs no relocation bonus required.

2) This is with American Airlines in Dallas Fort Worth which offered 100k + 10k bonus + 18k relocation bonus (required)

Which ofer should I consider given I’m a new graduate and this is going to be my first job. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking to get into an ER mid leadership role with an international company (I want to investigate, travel and I speak Portuguese fluently), but I'm having a hard time breaking in. I'm overqualified. I'm an attorney who practiced employment law before my now 7 years of inhouse HR. My skills are a great asset for an ER role, but I'd be reporting to someone with less education, which I don't mind. But recruiters think they do. Any advice from my senior HR pros?

Hey guys, newbie here please be gentle with me 😅. I have recently accepted an offer but my gut tells me it might not be the best for my future move. As usual there a probation of three months during which the notice period is half the time as compared to if I was a comfirmed staff. Do you think I should start looking and make use of the shorter notice period during my probation?

There are many reasons why the current atmosphere for clinicians is a total shit show. What irks me the most is when companies say they treat everyone like “family” but do things like micromanage you or treat you like crap. Currently work for Legacy as a DPT and when my contract is up in a couple of months I’m out of there! Stay away from this company.

Made it to Amazon last round, and rejected. All I got was an email from the recruiter saying they didn't move forward. Any other junior in-house lawyers report to non-lawyers?? How do you deal with it? My boss has worked in law their entire career but is not a lawyer. It is a struggle because they are not as responsive and quick, lack knowledge of law (i.e., may misstate the law and misguide internal clients), among other things.

I have been offered a position in-house at a $500M-$1B company, mid-sized city LCOL, 10 YOE in private practice. They offered me $120k, w opp for undefined discretionary bonus. No paid parental leave or 401(k) match & only 1 week PTO in first year (but claim they have discretion for more). Is there any way to salvage this? Salary guides suggest TC should be around $200-215k. I want to get my foot in the door but this seems crazy low.
