It depends. Fidelity just added a new program between their private client ($1M) and family office ($50M) called private wealth management. It's their version of a full RIA because they were bleeding clients. They run Navi plan and emoney. In addition the advisor has an attorney, cpa and cfa from home office that they work with. They are capped at 75 clients and are typically the highest level advisor. They cover a region to fill up their books from branch leads so the client might not get face time more then semi annually.
I interviewed at Fidelity, so they told me about their structure. Basically, top advisors are dedicated to top clients, and are very hands on. Lower level clients get to play Russian roullette as a training ground for the lower level advisors as they get their feet wet. This client is most likely getting white glove treatment. Drip, be nice, check in, and stand in the wings if this client gets ticked off and wants to leave. Be their number two. Someday you could be their number one.
