Friday

Friday. Monday off feels like an extended Sunday. Friday off feels like early weekend!!

like

Pre-covid, Monday: because fridays were usually a chill, short day in the office anyway

Post-covid, everyday feels like a Monday so either one

like

Monday.. Fridays are anyway lighter. Mondays are crazy

Saturday. #sadtrombone

But seriously, Friday. Taking Monday off leaves me feeling behind the rest of the week.

like

Both days plz

I’m gonna throw a wrench in this whole argument:

Take off Wednesday.

Breaks up the whole week, you’ll have the supermarket/bank/beach to yourself. Trust me it’s awesome

likefunny

Worth it though

Friday....no matter how hard you try but the holiday env is not as great on sunday night as compared to friday night...monday holiday is useless as fun fades out after Saturday night

like

Mondays for sure.

like

I think that Fridays are the best simply because it’s easier to get the project team to honor a Friday off. I typically still get blasted with emails on Mondays even if I’m on PTO.

If you’re able to call ignore the Monday surge, more power to you. I, however, am not gifted in that regard.

like

Friday - my Monday’s always seem packed. If I take two, I do Thurs Friday off

like

Always Monday’s

like

Friday

Wednesday at the pool

Only take Friday if it’s a holiday weekend and the holiday is Monday so it makes it a 4 day weekend. Otherwise l love having Monday’s off.

Mondays for sure

Mondays if I think about it. Fridays be chill anyway

Alternate week Friday-monday combinations and see what works well in the long run.

I’m up for promotion this year, and I’ve been working so hard and my feedback is amazing and I’ve wanted this for awhile. Now, an immediate relative is actively dying and I may go out on a short leave, and I also have some PTO planned so that I can visit family oversees later this fall. With all that’s happening, I’m not going to hit my 90% utilization target, which is a checkbox in my promo. (cont).

First - thank you so much to this amazing group for all the encouragement and advice! I now potentially have 2 offers (both verbal) at this time. Both amazing companies. I have 2 questions:
1. I have a month's vacation planned for end of this year. I didn't mention it during the interview process (it was not intentional). Should I mention this to the recruiter when they come to me with the initial offer?
2. Some tips for salary negotiations please?

like

During salary negotiations with Infosys. HR : what is the offer you holding? Me : 40 HR : We would not be able to match that. Me : yes I understand, but you need to compensate me on some other parameters, maybe onsite opportunity. You cannot say since this is Infosys, take 30 or leave. HR : no, the max we can offer is 26. 😸😸

Are there any pros to staying at a company and getting laid off, vs. proactively looking for a new job and quitting before it happens? I.e., financial (possibility of receiving severance or any other benefits). Or is being laid off just all bad? Hi folks,
I recently completed my technical interview with epam anywhere and I got selected in that. Now HR told me that I have one more project interview round which is also technical. In my epam profile it's showing that it's an offer interview. My HR told for functional testing it's a project interview instead of offer interview. I really confused about this and why should I take another Technical round even after clearing 1.5 hrs technical round. Can anyone share details of it?
