If I took a part time MBA program, can I still campus recruit for a summer role at MBB, Big 4, FAANG, etc?
I'm a young analyst in ACN with 1+ year of experience in cloud migrations. I've received a very good job offer by another Big 4 in the same sector and service but with better career growth opportunities. I don't like to work in cloud service and also I don't like the banking sector. For this reason, I requested to be moved in another service in ACN. My manager said ok, but this probably takes several months. Next monday I have to provide a feedback to the other company. What would you do?
First job out of college so pardon my ignorance.. but are other jobs as high stakes as B4? Like the whole tier rating system, metrics tracking, snapshots.. I’m
Side hustle/independent consulting gig while on the bench? Hi fish, are you taking small consulting gigs on the side? I used to work at big 4 and now in fintech startup, there’s a need for SMEs here.
Just joined a Big 4 firm under the impression I would be doing XYZ work, but it turns out they misrepresented the position and the reality of the engagements available. I was straight up lied to (I did my due diligence as best I could). What should I do?
Leaving my firm in a few weeks for another B4 and couldn’t be more checked out. Still playing a large role on the project I’m on though. Suggestions on how to stay focused and engaged on client work?
🐠's need Advise. I am tempted to move to another big 4 for better pay. Considering speaking to PPED regarding my compensation before making a decision. As a senior 2 earning 89K. Is that standard?
Chances? 325 GRE 3.0 Big10 Finance UG 4 years big 4 tech consulting D1 Athlete white male 🤢 Target schools: Texas, Ross, Kellogg, Fuqua, Kelley
Has anyone moved from a big 4 to a BDO/GT/RSM? I have an opportunity to move to a mid tier as a manager or stay at KPMG for another year to become a manager. On one hand, I have consistently been a top performer and have an outstanding reputation at KPMG, but on the other hand I am and sick of the forced standardization/granularity and overall long hours culture at B4. Also, I look up and see that managers/partners are abused here in my B4 office. Will it be materially different at a BDO/GT/RSM?
Is there a big difference between MM and B4 WLB? I liked the people at the MM firm better, but don't if B4 means that much I could see myself staying.
Any B4 boomerangers?
Which offer would you take? Offer 1 (Big 4 Consulting M): 190 base, 20k sign on, up to 15% bonus, 50% travel. Offer 2 (Industry AVP): 165 base, 25k sign on, up to 35% bonus, no travel.
I got an offer to work as a senior consultant (accounting advisory) at CrossCountry for 95k. As an S1 audit in B4, I’m not sure if it’s the right move because I’m unsure of what I’m looking for. It’s remote (for now) based in the Bay Area. I’m in Philly now. They said they’d consider remote work permanently though. Otherwise, I wouldn’t consider living there for that salary. Does anyone have feedback for CrossCountry Consulting?
Would greatly appreciate any insight into 1) the average tenure for an entry-level consultant at a B4 firm here in Chicago; 2) what % jump in salary would justify leaving (either in a normal/pre-COVID world or keeping in mind today's current situation). Just curious to know how my career plans shape up with what's going on around me.
Have an opportunity to be a loaned staff for a company I find really interesting for 2 years. Should I be cautious of this? Seems like a good opportunity but I’d likely miss out on the typical career progression of a big 4 firm
Anyone from B4 recently made switch to FAANG? Expecting an offer and wanted to be prepared for the compensation discussion. Any advice on range to expect and how to negotiate? Thank you in advance.
Big 4 junior level feels while trying to get promoted with no raises, no bonuses, no travel benefits, and 60 hour weeks with no separation between work/home “but you should just be happy you haven’t been laid off”
Currently a PhD at a M7. Veteran, and obviously used to be at EY. Currently in qualifying phase and starting to looking to post-PhD life. How do the firms differ in how they treat advanced degrees (ie stick to PhD area or are you a generalist)? How do federal vs commercial practices differ when recruiting advanced degrees? I recognize that there might be a pay differential (pay isn’t important, I don’t want to go back to B4 due to tax/consulting dichotomy), just would be great to be federal.
EY moms...what medical insurance did you select for 2020? I’ll be covering myself + 1 kid...we may try for another baby next year but we would start 2nd half of year so birth wouldn’t be until 2021.
A2 with decent shot for early promo, at least a high ranking, good client good team, overall good situation as far as audit goes. Transaction services opportunity with large non-Big 4 firm. Thoughts?
*Advice* I recently accepted position at a 50K pay cut (covid). I shared my target salary /lateral move & at the negotiation point, they came up slightly by way of qtrly bonus structure but also outlined path for growth incl. expected salary increases at said points. Said it could be achieved in under a year. By day 4 of the new job they had accelerated to the final point in that plan without making good on title / salary. Spoke up immediately... “in discussion” 2 weeks in. Bait/switch WWUD??
Interviewed two weeks ago and still haven’t heard back. The recruiter isn’t responding to my follow up email. Bad sign?

Being a foreign worker on H1b who recently rolled off from the project and currently on beach, what are my options in these times of impending slowdown?
Found out that my partner, who is an ACD is making more than I am as a CD. Problem is I can't reveal how I found out to my boss, so I don't know how to bring this up and ask for a raise.
For those who went from B4 to Baker Tilly in Philadelphia or Lancaster, what are the pros and cons that you noticed? Specifically curious about hours, clients/teams and resources.
For PwC fishes who left recently, how did you consolidate wealth builder into 401k within benefits express to avoid the 20% federal tax withholding that was described in the benefits package? I tried to do this online but it didn’t show as an option except to rollover to an existing IRA or take a final distribution. Do I need to call benefits express?
Interviewed by a FP&A director for a SFA position and they asked me my salary expectations. I couldn’t dodge the question so i gave a range between 110-115k (where i’m currently at as S3 in big4 advisory). They said highest base for the position is around 105k and total comp (base+annual bonus) would likely be 110k. The role focuses on top-line P&L and is pure FP&A (no JE/acctg responsibilities) and good WLB, so i think it’s a good opportunity. If they do give an offer, should i still negotiate?

Have around $1100 in medical bill. Does it make sense to pay from my HSA account or put it on monthly payment plan and pay from my checking account as I would pay any bill?
