Don't be foolish son, IPO isn't dead and neither is M&A the underlying service will always be necessary if there are companies to be sold
I wouldn't go as far as to say IPO is dead, but I would say that not too many great firms have IPO'd in recent history. It's just time to reup, not tapout
They arent doing IPO's right now because valuations are low and investors are scared of investing in equity markets. IPO's will be fine by next year as soon as everything goes back to normal. M&A is still happening. The company I work at wants to expand and is aiming for more acquisitions because valuations are low. At the moment, I'm trying to find distressed companies.
M&A is already dead lol. No body has any degree of clarity on how this will play out and companies are all pulling guidance. It’s not dead forever but things will definitely remain slow until the world regains some degree of normality, at which point I would predict M&A activity to increase as larger companies look to acquire the struggling ones or PE firms buy up good underlying business that was hit hard by the situation. Just my personal prediction tho.
There's a whole m&a department at my company (which is present almost everywhere in the world) currently looking to acquire distressed firms. I wouldn't say its dead.
