If the price was right and it was an EXCELLENT company to work for, would you consider a contract job?

Currently interviewing with Facebook (Meta) and looking for advice from other Technical Recruiters that recently joined. I’d be leaving a great company after less than 1 year, but I’d get the chance to upgrade my leveling (perhaps even mgmt) with the bonus of getting experience at a FAANG company. I’d probably say no to that. I’ve also started as a contractor with the company iv been working for but it took a long time to get converted and it wasn’t always obvious it’ll happen. It was a lot of uncertainty which I rather not go through again. And in general, I don’t support such contracts type and companies should stop offering them for recruiters. Hopefully less and less people accept them so companies will start to adjust🤗
Thanks for the feedback! :)

Soooo many of the tech + FAANG companies structure it this way, if that’s the experience you want, then you need to consider a long term contract to start.
If it provides access to an opportunity that you would not otherwise have and you are confident in your capabilities then I would consider contract to hire.
Also, even if the company generally has good WLB I would expect to have to work hard to prove yourself and secure the conversion. Just something to consider if part of the motivation to move is related to WLB.
Very true, thank you!
I’m in the same boat! I’ve done a contract to hire also before where in the end I was hired full on because I worked hard and another employee quit. Meaning I still would’ve gotten the role of the employee had not quit but because they quit it put me in an ideal position. So it was a mix of luck and prestige. Nonetheless though through that entire time I for sure worked my hardest and was very stressed but it did help me to stay motivated as I had a clear path to my goal.
Did you end up taking the interview and/or offer?
I didn’t! It didn’t feel worth it to me.
