If we had to build a perfect country, what would it have? I'll start: basic healthcare for all, skill/need based immigration, focus on infrastructure and internal manufacturing and growth, high PPP.

Affordable and good quality education. Oh and food

like

Okay, here's an unpopular opinion. I'd like to see college go back to being optional rather than the being a stigma if you don't have a college degree. There are a lot of jobs for which a college degree doesn't prepare you in the slightest, but we make a college degree required as a screening mechanism. So resources are wasted sending everyone to college and trying to make it affordable. I would much prefer to see us adapt the Swiss apprenticeship model where you continue your education while working at the same time, and the employer provides a lot of the education.

The point of this was to come up with a list that describes utopia, and then seeing how to pay for it. I have ideas. I want to hear what we think if we put partisanship aside and put our thinking caps on. K1 not included.

I think we have all of this in America, just need to tweak some things like healthcare, education, and add Gatorade fountains. Maybe better place to start is what would you change about the US?

PwC3, that's a great opinion. It would certainly enable people to move on quicker with their careers, and make hiring easier for businesses. Disqualifying a potential employee based on education requirements isn't always good business practice. There are so many positions where experience is valued, and you're correct that college degrees do not always prepare for certain jobs. I think in the US, we have an idea that going to college proves you to be worthy and employable, because you made it through an institution that was voluntary and shows your character.

Hello everyone!
I recently found out that I was being paid less than everyone in the team (more than 25% gap to more expe teammates, around 15% less than new hires)
We all had the same responsibilities, I consider I even had a heavier workload (talking in past tense since I very recently made an internal move).
Things to consider:
On a work visa
Non-white
Non-male
What would you recommend doing?
Keeping it to myself?
Speaking up? How? With who?

-TIA

Hello all, I hope you’re all having a fantastic day/evening. I’m a Case Manager for TZ Insurance, aka Tranzact. Does anyone know of anything I could apply for at other companies/positions with my skill set? I don’t want to be a sales agent, though I have a Health/Life Insurance License in my state (& a few others). I review new applications with clients. I’m sick of dealing with all the 65+ & disabled people who are always irate & impatient, inside the “Medicare” area of Health Insurance.

Mine are:
1) a good diet changes how you perform at the gym and is key for aesthetics
2) master the form of your exercise. Form > weight always
3) Follow a structured program. The worst structured program will have more benefits than no structure
4) consistency > perfection
5) listen to your body
6) have fun with your exercise!
